I know this is different for everybody and follicles dont guarantee an egg BUT am bit anxious. On my second scan I heard im going to be triggering tonight.
The nurses were counting during the scan i heard a 5 smaller than 10. A few around 20 and few around 13/16.
I stimmed for 9 days. So no stimms anymore. Will the smaller ones grow in the two days without any stimms?
I suppose am looking for your experiences so i am not shocked when they get less eggs than a year ago x x 🙏

First time poster but just wanted to say I had a follicular scan on a Friday and had about 19 suitably sized follicles.... egg retrieval on the Monday after resulted in 28 eggs! So alot happened over the weekend - hopefully youre the same xx

26 were mature, 14 fertilised but all went wrong day 3 onwards (which is usually sperm issues but partner has good halo result at 16%) so who even knows what happened. Starting round 2 tonight, with reduced injection amounts. Hope you're going ok, all the best for your egg collection - I'm not far behind you xxxx

See thats a bit of my worries. Last time 18 follicles but varying so much and had 8 eggs. So would be happy with that again its just that my meds were raised from 150 to 225 and was hoping they would grow evenly but i guess thats a bit hrd on short protocol. Hope your well lovey xxxx
Hi Mimisami, I also stimmed for 9 days and had two scans. Out of 12 follicles I had 1x17.9 1x17 1x16 and smaller ones between 7.4 and 12. The nurse needed a second opinion to see if I was ready for egg collection and said I was ready. I had egg collection on Friday..out of 9 eggs I received a phone call that 7 of the eggs were not mature. After an anxious night I received a phone call to say that my two eggs had fertilized. I received another call this morning that both eggs are doing really well so I’m booked in for transfer on Wednesday (if everything goes well). I feel that I should’ve been on stims for longer..especially as I was reacting so well to the medication. I’m quite disappointed with my clinic. I’m very grateful to have two eggs but could have ended up with none xx
Im sorry Natty your ec didnt go as you hd hoped. And i do hope both of them keep developing. I had that feeling two last time because after 7 days of stims they just saw one good follicles and had to ajust for the last 2 days. Thats the whole thing abt learning from first round. Hope its bot needed, but needs mentioning in a follow up appt 💐💐
This is my second round so I would have thought they would learn from the first round. I’ll defo be mentioning it in my follow-up. Good luck with your egg collection xx

I had some bigger ones but also had 4 at 12mm on the Monday so the clinic delayed my collection by a day to get those 4. I triggered on the Tuesday and when I had collection Thursday the small ones at 7/8mm had jumped up too.
I know I stimmed an extra day but I think as the meds are still in your system then there’s still a chance they can grow.

I understand they tend to grow 2-3mm a day so you have time for them to be harvestable! Good luck x

I am the person who doesn’t produce many mature eggs. My follicles need to be over 20mm on trigger day to produce mature eggs.
I been stimulated always from 8 to 10 days max. The biggest follicle I had was 26mm. There are ladies who have smaller follicles 16-17mm and the eggs are mature.
Don’t lose your hope, if you are on different protocol this time, than you have all the changes to produce good quality and quantity eggs.

It was such a crazy day, I was so tired when I reached home at 10:30pm. I had to fight with idiots in airport at the passport control 😤🤯 they started to ask me why I flew to Spain and returned on the same day. I tried to explain that is was for medical reasons and they looked puzzled "only 1 day?" It is not your bloody business how many days I need to stay there as is not against the law!?! What kind of treatment was his next question?! In my mind I wanted to say are you sure that you really want to know?! Anyway after he pissed me off properly he let me go.
My dear I really hope that you don't need to do another cycle, if you are getting 2-3 blastocyst will be enough. I was always praying for 2-3 embryos only and asking myself what I will do with 4 or 5 ?? 😂😂

You hit the nail in the head, I was also thought of a "drug-smuggler" 😂 I looked very much like that!! I had a full bag with pills and injections that scared him probably because apparently I am not absorbing pessaries the way I should, so I don't have enough progesteron in my body ☹️😤🤧 My eyes were so red because of the tiredness 🥵 but I noticed that only when I was already home 😂😂🤣
I am a PUPO cannot believe that! After 2 years of waiting since my last transfer in 2018. My baby is at home!!!🐣 😁

Hi Minisami, I think the posts above show it really does vary person by person. On both my day 9 scans the Dr has said to stim for 2 more days And I do end up with as few more that look like they might produce and egg yet both times I only get the amount projected on day 9 and I’ve also learnt that my blood estrogen levels are a more accurate predictor (I think normally they go by follicle size but I appear to be different). Having said that the eggs that I do get get fertilise bar 1 so the fertilisation is really good. I’m trying a double trigger this time around. Good luck for your ec x
Aww rainbow_leopard thats really good you have good fertilisation! Wish i could say the same. We hd 2 average looking embryos from 8 eggs. So im hoping for something to transfer. I just wished they would not be so different 6- 22 on day 9. But fingers crossed. Hope your well xx
It’s very lucky they fertilise well as I only got 6 & 7 eggs from 12 ish follicles. It’s so random! Fortunately 3 & 2 made it to day 5 but sadly the quality is poor. I just cling on to the cliche “it only takes one”. 🤞🏻 For you x
