Eggs growing nicely

Hi so had my first stimms scan this morning and they are growing well. She was saying the numbers as my husband wrote them down for her but I don’t know what the numbers mean 🤷‍♀️ I heard a few double digit numbers and she seemed positive but I don’t understand it all.

For collection they want them to be 17mm or more so that's what you're aiming for. The grow pretty quickly! Whens your next scan due? Xx

You'll defs have 17's by friday! One of my 10's went up to an 18 in two days, crazy how fast those little follicles grow! Loads of good luck lovely! Drink plenty and eat well xxx

Hi. A follicle needs to be at least 17mm for an egg to fit in when the trigger shot releases eggs to go in, then you have egg collection to see how any have released into the ripe follicles, then hopefully they will fertilise when sperm is introduced in the laboratory, or injected in if you have ICSI. Eggs don’t really grow much, they mature. Hope that explains it for you. Diane

Hi Sunshineraye, they have found 11 follicles (7 on the right and 5 on the left) the biggest one is 11mm. I have another scan on Monday bank holiday and Egg collection confirmed for Wednesday morning 😀

I am so glad Diane explained about follicles and eggs, I had no idea 🙈

It sounds like we are at the same stage, I also had my scan today. I got told I have 8 growing nicely and 8 a little further behind. My next scan is also on Friday, me and my husband were a bit confused in regards to the numbers too 🙈 also we are going to start injecting GF on the slower ovary side 🤣 not sure if that will work but we shall see - worth a try! X

What is it with the left ovaries eh? ha ha do you have your estimated EC date? Yes totally, me and my husband thought once I started Cetrocide, I would stop taking GF (we had practically waved goodbye to it) only to find out that I need to take the two injections side by side - lucky thing we didn't bin it. How are you finding it so far? I haven't had many symptoms etc just a few headaches, but I'm on a lower dosage due to risk of OHSS. xx

Oh no, did you miss any doses?

I’m ok, just exhausted and have pains in my ovaries. Have you had any pains? They lowered my dose just for yesterday, back to the normal dose tonight xx

No we didn't miss any doses as luckily the appointment was the next day...few. I've not had to many pains but now im feeling pressure on both sides. How did your scan go today? My left ovary has really caught up now, I think they said I have 13 follicles that are ready and some just behind. They may be taking me in early due to the ohss risk. They took a blood sample so just waiting to hear back today. Hope everything went well with your scan x

Oh phew that was lucky then. They saw 8 on my right and 4 on my left ( but she couldn’t see my left very well. I have one at 20mm and the 2 are below 10 and the rest are between 12-16.

I’m waiting to hear today if I stay on the same dose or not. Thankfully they don’t think I’m at risk of OHSS. I do have so much pain though. Have they given you an EC date? x
