After a long few months of lots of lifestyle changes and many many supplement concoctions we got the latest comet results today from our urologist. Pleased to say there was a huge improvement! We went from 5 bad sperm for every 1 good to 4 good for every 1 bad! (In very simple terms!) π
For all those people who say you canβt improve sperm - you really can! We have been told many times over the years that there is pretty much nothing you can do to improve sperm, but happy to see that is simply not the case.
We are now good to go on our 3rd round, starting IMSI in a few weeks. Feeling really positive and like we have tipped the odds in our favour π€π€

Thanks so much βΊοΈ Itβs hard to say as we made lots of adjustments - diet, supplements, BPA free etc etc. I think probably the Impryl (1 in the evening) and proxceed (1 sachet in morning) made a big difference, also cutting out hot baths.
The best thing we did was self referring to a urologist and fertility nutritionist. Without them we would never have made this progress!
Oh that is interesting. I have been looking at more supplements. Will have to check them out. Good to know that you got some tailor treatment and it made such a difference xx
Wonderful news! totally understand the frustration. We were told the same first round with azoospermia and had no embryos because we didn't make those changes just as well we didn't listen 2nd round and managed to get 3 beautiful embryos π. 2 of them being now 1 and 2 years old. Good luck with everything.
Do you mind me asking what your husbands condition is? I've just had a round of ivf where we got no embryos. My husband has azoospermia due to cbavd and I'm thinking of just moving to sperm donor after such incredible disappointment, so im interested to hear about your success X
Hi Ginny. He had a very large varicocele which meant extremely low sperm count (around 1M), poor mobility & morphology. He had surgery to embolise the varicocele a few years ago but we didn't see much improvement. We recently had DNA fragmentation tested as we had 2 MMC's & 1 chemical - from both ICSI and natural pregnancies. We have made huge progress in all aspects (count, motility, DNA frag etc.) following lots of lifestyle changes and a full supplement plan. Hope this helps xx
Same condition from what I understand reading up on cbavd. My partner is a cystic fibrosis carrier and vas deferens is missing π. Can completely understand why you want to do donor, I had wanted to do the same and even considered not having children but he pushed and begged for one more round of IVF and promised to stop drinking alcohol, caffeine, ate healthy, exercised and took menevit every day for 6 months before TESE as it takes 3 months to see any difference. It was all because of him and the life changes he made is why we have our boys π. I remember the feeling like yesterday, it's horrible. Talk to eachother as much as you π it's such a hard place to be in. I hope you both manage to make the right decision for you both. Oh and our embryos grew in a TIMI machine, that helped so much! They are monitored by photos and they do not take the embryos and assess how they are growing.
