Only 5 eggs collected

I’ve literally just come out of egg collection. I had 30+ follicles and they coasted me for around 7 days which meant egg collection was delayed 2 times. I am devastated when the first cycle I had 12 eggs. Any success stories from low numbers being collected? I know it’s quality over quantity... I really am praying. So much!

hi Amy, why did they coast you? do you think the delay cost you more eggs? i mean 5 is still good, but i guess the ration from 30:5 you are disappointed with. maybe you should have stern words with your clinic. fingers crossed all 5 make it. good luck. xx

Because my levels were big due to too many follicles. I feel so so deflated. Xx

Hi Amy, I was gutted when I came out of my last EC and they only had 6 eggs from 15 follicles. But they all fertilised and we ended up with 2 beautiful frosties. So don't worry too much - the numbers aren't everything xx

Honestly I was so so gutted when they told me we only had 6. I just cried. But I massively over reacted - purely because the last EC we'd got 18 eggs so I was expecting the same number. Each cycle is different so you just have to roll with it unfortunately! Fingers crossed for some good embryos xxx

Hi Amy, I was devastated when only 4 eggs were retrieved earlier this year. I thought the cycle was a write off but all 4 eggs fetilised and 3 made it to blastocyst. They all reached 3BB grade by 10am on day 5. One was transferred and 2 frozen. Another lady I know had 17 follicles and only 4 eggs collected. She ended up with 3 blastocysts too xx

I know that we are always getting disappointed by the number of eggs retrieved, I never been truly happy with the number I had on all 4 eggs collections 😂🤭 but what is matter the most it is actually how many will be transferable. My last cycle 7 eggs were mature, 6 fertilized and 4 reached blast - 3 PGS normal. Don't lose your hopes yet. The worst cycle can actually be the best 💓. Take care 🤗

Hi Amy when I gone through EC before egg collection doctor told me he can only see 3 or 4 follicles in each overy and he said all the follicles does not have eggs either so I got really disappointed and was wondering that whole cycle seems wasted as I might get 3 eggs and out of three maybe 1 reach to Blast or not not sure but after egg collection doctor told me they found 14 eggs and out of 14 eggs 5 blasts of day 5. Now I think maybe it does not really depends much on follicles maybe it depends at day of collection how many they found and how many follicles does have good eggs. Just believe on God mighty as it needed one good egg to give u your dream baby 👶 xx
