Hope you're all doing well. Just had my first menopur jab today (300iu). Seemed to be fine, didn't hurt or burn or anything which I am SO happy about.
Was wondering if anyone had any crazy side effects? buserelin was horrendous for me, so just wanted to reach out to see how people have found the mix of the two.
Thanks xx

Hi, I have also started yesterday with Menupur ;)! I am taking a higher dose (450) and I often find it gets harder as time goes on. It makes me tired, some mood swings 😬. I try to drink lots of water and eat a healthy diet with lots of protein and veg. Good luck!
Menopur is stingy if it’s v cold and you go quickly. Roll it in your hands to take the cold off it and you’ll be fine. I found it got wee bit stingy at times but as you have a certain number of needles to do, just count it down. I also kept some Percy pigs as my reward like a child 🤣💐 do what ya need to get through it. Rest after and enjoy ‘me’ time. I also made a play list to get myself ready for it each night 😘💐
Amazing tip!! Thank you. Yesterday was a bit stingy and itchy but will try rolling the vial today! My sister in law made me a chocolate hamper so that will see me through the next week! Xx
Sounds like a plan! A nurse gave me that tip 😎Get the good vibe happy music on and reward yourself with that hamper 👍🏻👌🏻 ( someone on here reminded me about caffeine in choc as a precaution..... I personally ate chocolate when I needed it 🤣) do whatever feels happy and right for you 😘 the happier your soul is, the less the crap hurts as ya journey on. Hugs of support to you ! You are doing this 🤩
Also, cut yourself slack with everything. Your body is working sooooooo hard so take it easy and lie on the sofa when ya need too! You might feel a bit tired and heavy inside but just take it easy . This is the most precious step , take care of yourself as much as you can and let the man do the house stuff etc. Also, if you feel angry or emotional ..... remind yourself that you are full of hormones 😘 you will be grand! 💐
So sorry for the late reply! I took the weekend off from all things IVF (apart from those ruddy injections!) Felt like I needed time to just sit and watch telly and not think all the time!!
Had no clue about caffeine in chocolate?! I can't drink so a little chocolate treat has been my saviour!
Hi, when I’ve had it previously I found it fine, this time it’s making me soooo tired! Finding it hard to inject in one side of my tummy too, but going to get some numbing cream. Good luck 🤞🏻X
Good idea about the numbing cream! I find it just really itchy after I've taken them. I think I felt some twinging last night but I'm not sure if it's just in my head? Good luck to you too lovely xx
Hi lovely, buserelin was fine for me, the menopur was not so good, had terrible mood swings, spots and constipation. But once my EC was done and the hormones were gone from my body I felt so much better. I decided to not go ahead with my transfer as I was so stressed out and thought that would only make the likelihood of becoming pregnant even smaller so we froze our embryos and I’m having my FET at the end of the month. My consultant has said the oestradiol tablets won’t have such harsh side effects 🤞🏻
Good luck I’m sure you’ll be fine and go with how your feeling xx Its a tough time on your body for sure but think of all those healthy little eggs you’re going to produce 😊
