Ding Ding Round 3!! Low AMH 🎢

Hello Ladies. Firstly a really big apology. I haven’t been on the forum since round 2 ended in a BFN. Iv really tried to keep my mind off all things infertility. Iv concentrated on getting as much sleep as possible and staying as relaxed as I can to be able to come back fighting fit for round 3 💪🏻

Like my last round I’m going to share the details of my cycle in the hope that it helps someone out there.

For those of you who haven’t seen my posts before. I’m 35. My AMH was 2.3 and FSH was 14.5...... 20 months ago (I’m not retesting). I have very few follicles (2-6). My OH has a very low sperm count with 100% antisperm antibodies due to a vasectomy/reversal.

Our first round of ICSI in May 2019 resulted in my beautiful little boy who is now nearly 8 months old. I had round 2 back in June/July 2020 which was a disaster (detailed in previous posts). So now it’s time for round 3. My drugs have just been delivered this afternoon and I’m ready and raring to go at some point next week so long as my body behaves!

On my first (and successful ) round I had 150 Bemfola.

Round 2 (unsuccessful) I had 350 Bemfola.

Before both rounds I took Microgynon 30 contraceptive pill for 21 days.

This time I’m back to 150 Bemfola and for the first time I’m not taking the BCP beforehand. My consultant agrees that I respond better to low dose stims. I requested to try a round without the BCP because it makes me feel like a hormonal wreck and Iv actually read that some women don’t respond well after using it (my consultant argued the opposite) 🤷🏻‍♀️ ... so let’s see!!

So there we go an update from me. I’m excited and terrified in equal measures.

FWIW, I didn’t respond at all with BCP. It totally over suppressed my ovaries so you were right to try without.

Thank you!! Doing ok thanks, we’re getting a load of blood tests done, and my husband had a dna frag test (all fine), and we’re (I’m) on pharma grade supplements to try and help us feel we’re in the best possible position for round 2. So we’re going to give the supplements 90-120 days to do their thing, so we’re not starting round 2 till January. Glad of the break to be honest! We’re changing from long protocol on gonal f to short protocol on menopur as well to see how I respond on that.

Sounds like you’ve already got the benefit of some learnings from your previous rounds so fingers crossed you’ll have another successful one this time, wishing you all the best!!

Sounds like you have a great plan 👌🏻 I think it’s a good idea to have a little break for both mental and physical health. It all takes such a massive toll! Hoping January comes round quickly and all goes well 🤞🏻✨🤞🏻✨Xx

Thank you lovely. Definitely feeling way less anxious now. Still wouldn’t say that I’m enjoying it but am definitely very hopeful now we’ll be ok! I think once we hit 24 weeks that will help a lot.
