Was anyone else asked to take blood thinners after egg retrieval?

My IVF nurse has asked me to take Arovi following egg retrieval , however when I went in to have my egg retrieval, the fertility consultant wasn’t sure why this was requested as all embryos are being frozen and I don’t have a history of clotting problems. I called the clinic and left a message, missed the return call only to find a message that said “yes, you must take them” with no explanation as to why or how long...

I would really like to know why I should be having these injections, but it’s a Saturday night and the clinic is closed. Has anyone else had to take blood thinners when they don’t have a transfer booked?

Hi, on my first retrieval i wasn't but on my 2nd i was given clexane injections. I'm not sure why they give it but its not uncommon

Hi Mollymook. All probably down to your specialist wanting to ensure an even blood flow to your womb lining and hopefully they will prevent any clot formation too. Quite commonly used, so let's hope it does the trick with you. Diane
