Contact by fertility clinic after egg retrieval

I had my egg retrieval on Friday and on Saturday receives a call from the embryologist who advised how many eggs were mature (11 out of 14) and had fertilised normally (7). He said transfer would look to be Wednesday. Since Saturday I have had no further updates. Is this normal?

Hi Jade, every clinic has its own policy but you should actually be hearing from them today if you had your egg collection on Friday. Since it counts as 4/5 days past transfer. Our clinic only calls the following day after transfer and then on day 5 and day 6 because they don’t want to disturb the embryos . Call the clinic if you don’t hear back by the end of the day . All the best for your transfer by the way .

Hi.

My clinic also don’t call after the fertilisation update but I was given a provisional time for transfer and told I would be called if there wasn’t anything to transfer. It was such an awful wait! Perhaps it is worth giving them a call to check what time the planned transfer is. Wishing you luck x

Some clinics offer a day 3 update and others offer just a day 5 after the fertilisation update. Your day 5 is tomorrow so you will get an update then. You can call them to double check their policy so you know what to expect

My clinic called the next day and on day 3. Next update was day five when the embreyos would be transplanted.

Thinking mine must be next day and day 5, an appt has come up on my portal for tomorrow. I will try and relax! Glad i haven’t had to do it earlier, pain only just subsiding from retrieval!

My clinic was the same - just one call day after EC, but I think we got a call the morning of transfer, to let us know how it was going and to confirm if transfer was happening as planned on day 5 in the afternoon.
