Hi everyone, I'm 38 (just) and recently had some initial tests done after ttc for 1 year. Has anyone had similar results and had any success? We're both feeling so low and worried at the moment, but really trying to stay positive about the next steps. I think it's the wait between appointments that has really bothered me, as every month I feel time is running out.
Gp tests- high fsh at 13.9 (day 4), but progesterone on day 21 was 62 so shows I'm still ovulating? I still have regular cycles every 27 days, but now my period only lasts 2-3 days max.
Further tests at the fertility clinic showed by AMH was 8.6, but they could only see 4 follicles on the ultrasound (this was done on day 25 of my cycle, so not sure if that makes a difference?).
They have recommended possibly proceeding with ICSI, due to low morphology.
I know everyone responds differently to treatment, but it would be a great help to hear your experience and what we could possibly expect from here xx

Hello lovely, just wanted to say welcome. ICSI is a sensible way to start. I had lower AMH then you at the same age and my consultant told me to treat the first cycle as an investigatory cycle, to learn how I respond to meds, determine quality of eggs etc. I now know this was a sensible way to approach it. Are you getting treatment on the NHS? When will you start? Wishing you all the very best of luck. And remember it only takes one good quality egg to create a baby! Xx
They want me to have a hycosy as well first, so still not sure when we might start. Hopefully as soon as possible! If the wait is too for long for nhs though, we may look at private.
Wishing you all the luck in the world with everything x
Good luck with the Hycosy. Hopefully they’ll speed things up for you. I had my first NHS fertility consultation end of Jan and was on treatment by May. So I hope it’s as quick for you! Best of luck Xx
