D and C after a missed miscarriage

Hi guys,

My first fresh IVF cycle ended in a missed miscarriage and I opted for a D and C. It has been four weeks now and I do not have my periods as yet. How long does it take normally ?

I just can’t wait to start over with the next cycle and this wait is just killing me !

After my D&C it was about 4 weeks until my period came so hopefully it will come any day now.

Have you done a pregnancy test to check your HCg level has dropped? I was told to do this 2 weeks after the surgery Xx

Hey, thank you so much for your reply. I am also trying to be a single mum with a donor sperm😊 so your story is close to mine and I would like to congratulate you for your BFP just a question. The clinic has recommended a natural FET for the next cycle. Did you your BFP on a natural cycle and a medicated cycle ?

My body didn’t react to meds for medicated so that transfer was cancelled. I saw a gynaecologist who suggested natural as I was having regular periods and ovulating. I personally preferred natural & I helped my lining along with some natural remedies also.

Thank you 😊 never thought getting pregnant was so difficult ! Can’t believe , one day, I would have to wait to get my periods 😂 take care of yourself

Hey hun it can vary quite a bit I recently took about 8 weeks but usually it’s less. Don’t be worried but after my first miscarriages I needed a second d and c. They should be testing your hcg to check it’s going down and what level it’s at should give you an idea. If they haven’t get your clinic to check your hcg level

I had a MVA for a miscarriage. I was also worried about getting my period as soon as possible to start again. I took norethisterone for 10 days then three days later got my period.

It was about 5 weeks for me. It was strangely less painful than usual 🤷‍♀️

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a missed miscarriage after a frozen transfer last July and it was truly gut wrenching because with my first loss I was bleeding a ton and expected it. For most people it's 4-6 weeks after a d&c but for me it was 4 months. I was able to transfer again that December and I'm currently 35 weeks. You will get your rainbow baby ❤️

4 months ! That’s crazy. I wonder how you pulled yourself through it, it must have been tough. I am hoping I get it soon so I can plan for my next cycle. 😭
