My egg collection was over a week ago. I had general anesthesia, and I know the doctor had to manipulate the ovaries quite a bit to get past my cysts to my follicles. I've been on antibiotics for a week and some pain killers, but not every day. I was feeling better a few days after and so tried to resume normal activities, only to be punished by absolutely terrible heartburn and worse bloating, not better—and I'm still pretty much as painfully bloated.
Not taking any hormones as this was a freeze-all cycle.
This sounds like my OHSS experience, but over a week sounds like a long time afterward. Did your symptoms just show up? I am so sorry you are feeling terrible! I had horrible bloating/pain, heartburn and constipation. My doctor had me on a Buserelin trigger as it would cause a withdrawal bleed/period very quickly which helps to alleviate my OHSS symptoms.
Definitely something you want to get in touch with your clinic about if you haven't already. Stay super hydrated with electrolytes and I hope you feel better soon!
Short cycle, yep! That’s when my OHSS occurred. 😕 But regarding your follicle response, I know OHSS can be weird and can strike a wide variety of women. Boo!
I was bloated for quite a while it wasn’t nice 🤦🏽♀️ just infirm you’re clinic to be safe. And just the usual drink loads of water. Think I also would buy lucazade sport to help xx
It can take time for your ovaries to settle down after egg collection, they are really swollen and remember they get jabbed with needles for collection. Make sure you drink plenty of water, thats really important however if you are feeling really poorly then contact your clinic.xx
Oh! I'm so sorry! I had moderate OHSS after the egg collection and lasted for at least two weeks. However after a week, I've gradually started to feel better, especially my nausea reduced quite a lot. The bloating gradually decreased and I started to pee a lot. I hope you get better soon!
