Embryo transfer on day 5 without making it to blastocyst.

Has anyone had a day 5 embryo transfer When the embryo has not made it to blastocyst? My embryo had ten cells and they transferred it. They figured it would have a better Chance inside me than at the lab. I know chances are low of it resulting in a pregnancy, but I’m trying to stay positive and hold out hope. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

Hi I had two blastocyst that weren’t mature transferred at the start of the year and sadly it didn’t work.

But then the next round of IVF I got five mature blastocysts. So if it doesn’t work this time, it does not mean that will be the result if you try again. Wishing you luck in your 2WW xx

Hello. Yes, our embryos developed slowly and at day 5 we had two transferred that were at the morula stage. I don’t know how many cells they had but we were told they were around a day behind where they were expected to be. Our embryologist told us that the chance of success was much lower and I started to mentally prepare myself for the next round. We were very lucky that one of our slow growing embryos made it and I am now 24 weeks pregnant. I just wanted to give you some hope that a positive outcome is still possible. As you say, your embryo is in the right place now. Good luck for the 2ww. X

Wishing you lots of luck - when I was in a similar situation, I did get pregnant but miscarried at 8 weeks. What helped me a lot was knowing that nature was going to take its course and nothing I did or didn't do would change the outcome. While I was waiting to find out what would happen, I knew that either the embryo was chromosomally normal and would be ok, or it wasn't and it wouldn't work out, but either way whatever happened would be for the best, given the situation I was in. Of course make sure you look after yourself, eat healthily etc, but in the end either this is a sticky one (I really hope it is) or it isn't, and you have to hang in there and wait to find out.
