I had a 3dt on Wednesday and our embryo had only made it to 7 cells not 8 which is expected at day 3. They told me they would still try it as it could develop into 8 after transfer.
I am wondering if anyone else has had a slow developing embryo transfer and had a successful pregnancy?
This is my 2nd cycle the first 1 i only got one fertilised embryo that got to 9 cells on day 3 which ended in a BFN and this time this i got one that only made it to 3 cells so they said it wouldn’t make it and the 7 cell embryo they transferred.
The fact the one last time was stronger and didn’t work has made me feel I have no chance of this one working and I am going to go through the awful 2ww to end up with a BFN.
I am praying this will work but feel so bad that it won’t and just wish someone could tell me it’s going to be ok. I know this is a lot to ask for and there may not be an answer for me but I need to try.
Any help or advice with this would be greatly appreciated xx

I had a 3 day transfer with a grade 7/8 as was borderline and got pregnant but miscarried at 7 weeks. They did say from the first test after the 2ww that it is either a slow developer or will unfortunately end and was closely monitored to see it was progressing. This was due to my HGC levels nod increasing as they should be.
So sorry to hear of your miscarriage and I really hope you get your bundle of joy soon. Thank you for replying to me and letting me know how you got on. I’ll be thinking of you and hope one day both our dreams come true ❤️Xx
A friend of mine had two 6 cells transferred that weren’t doing too well on day 3 and she went on to have twins. It is definitely possible. Try to have hope if you can.
I really hope the days go fast for you and you get your BFP ❤️ The 2ww really is mental torture. My OTD is the 6th December. I would like to fall asleep and wake up on the 6th to a BFP. But have to face the rest of the 2ww. I just hope we both and everyone else on here get the BFP’s we deserve xx
I know what you mean about falling asleep and waking up again on test day! My clinic seems to get us to test pretty early so I only have to make it until Friday! Today is half gone so that’s good!
Aww that’s good I will be thinking of you Friday hoping and praying you get a BFP. Does your clinic test on day 10 after transfer? I want to test early but they told me I could get a false positive so not to test early. I’m not sure if that is because I had a 3dt and not a 5dt? Xx
9dp5dt they want me to test. Or what is 2 weeks after egg collection. The count all that as part of the 2ww which I guess in reality 9dp5dt is 14 days after fertilisation which makes sense. Might make a difference how strong the trigger is that you use as well for how long it takes to get out of your system. Probably best to listen to your clinics advice with it! Xx
Aww ok I can understand that from the day of fertilisation. I will be thinking of u all day Friday.
I had a 5000 trigger injection which I think is the lowest one (I could be wrong though) I wanted to know how long the trigger injection would last in my system so on the day of transfer before I had ET i done a test first thing on the morning to see if it would give me a false positive meaning the trigger injection was still in my system but it came up negative so I think the trigger injection was out of my system before ET. This makes me want to test early as if a line shows up now surely it would mean it has worked but then I am also scared to test early xx
I’ve just found this comment and it gives me hope, I had two embryos transferred in today, day 3. Really need positivity in my life now! Ur comments here give me hope
Hi jules, I just came across your post while frantically googling during my TWW 😢. I am in a similar situation to yours 2 years ago and I wondered how you got on? Hoping your story may give me some much needed hope ! X
