5 Day transfer 4AA blastocyst process and experiences?!

Hi everyone , so yesterday I had one embryo put back in it was day 5 for me. I was a little disappointed they only put one in for my age (I’m 39) but was told by the embryologist that I had a grade 4AA and that’s a good quality and explained the risks of putting more than that in. I got 15 in total of which 11 survived and 9 made it to day 3 at at 8 cells stage. I am not sure how many I freezing they will call me Monday to confirm. Just wanted to ask if some experiences of what to expect now ? How I will feel , react , what’s meant to be going on in there, should I feel anything ? Also another question pressing on my mind the consultant who put my embryo back in yesterday did it in 5 mins with no scan just blind is that right ? I know I shouldn’t but I feel like I was just rushed and this last bit is obviously very important. Any experiences would be gratefully received. All this internet reading can drive you a little mad but it’s nice to hear personal experience.

Xxx

Hi there, sounds like you got good numbers and a 4AA is great quality! Bit strange that they didn't use a scanner to find their way, how would they know where to look? 🤷🏽‍♀️ What to expect... I felt pretty rubbish after my transfer, came down with an awful cold and had lots of side effects from progesterone pessaries. Hopefully you'll feel good throughout your 2WW and all the best of luck to you!

Hello thank you for replying , I agree it didn’t hit me until I got home I thought why didn’t she scan me ? Why did I go with a full bladder ? Now I feel a little bit cheated it took her 20 mins just to get to the room to do it and it all felt rushed . Now I’m upset cause I feel like I’ve put months into this for at the end to get this kind of laid back treatment. I don’t know if I should call and ask if this is normal ?! I wonder sometimes it’s cause I am NHS in a private hospital. The only symptoms I have today are feel a little sick and tight left hand belly. Xx

Hey hun a 4AA is considered a perfect embryo! Doesnt get any better than that! Dont worry that they didnt use the scanner for transfer...one of my transfers they didnt use it because my ovaries were so swollen they actually couldn't see my womb. They said years ago they never used a scanner and the main reason they use one is so the patients can see. She said they put the catheter in when they feel it hit the back of the womb they pull it back about 1cm and it's the perfect spot! So dont worry! Very best of luck and I hope your 2ww goes by quickly! Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤗😘💕 xxx

Thing is they didn’t use it full stop she was 20 mins late and came in did it and left. It seems odd to ask to come with full bladder ? For all that build up it was the most crucial part . Her name is miss Leila hannah my consultant. Thank you for your kind words I’m only 1 day and already stressing :-( xx

A 4AA is excellent quality! The embryologists are a bit funny with transferring more than one embryo due to risks but I understand your disappointment as I've always wanted 2 put back. Not sure why they wouldn't scan but consultant must have been confident!! Best of luck....have a read of this, explains what should be going on....

Thank you he did tell me it’s good quality so that’s good to get a second opinion. I thought the same when I got home why didn’t they scan ? Xx

Hi Emma u got good embryo fingers crossed . That reminds me the clinic when we had my first cycle . Didn’t felt right on my ET and last maybe 2 to 5 min that it...no scan nothing. My second and the last one now took time and prepare me and the doctor and Nures and scan and to come with full bladder. Don’t worry hun now . Just relax and take it easy. Xx

When you say it didn’t feel right what did you experience ? Mines not felt right from day 1. Just hope she’s done her job properly. It’s all stress and over worry I don’t know whether to call them tomorrow to ask if it’s normal procedure? Xx

When I went for my ET they told me to take a bottom Clothing off and sat down on this gynaecologist hair . Labs door open embryologist or doctor come out I don’t know put it in and less then 5 min I was ready to go home. No advice no explanation what they done ...nothing . The thing is hun ...every one is different...didn’t work for me ...I had BFN . I was 34 then they transferred morula and blastocyst grade B . Don’t stress yet just try to relax xx

Thank you yes mine was pretty much the same in waited 20 mins for her to turn up. Gloves on catheter in clean of cervix , embryo In clearance from embryologist done . She left at this point said the other lady will look after me I laid up for 5 mins and left . Just seems too laid back for a retroverted uterus patient . Thanks I’m trying to relax but I keep wondering is it because I am NHS and more times I need to go more money they get ? X

Also I have a retroverted uterus so would that not mean more of a reason to use ultrasound? I’m driving myself mad here !

Very strange specially when they know that . My last 2 cycles they first use scan to check my uterus and was like 3 people in a room ...then took few min for me to lay down in right position so they can smoothly transfer embryo and Full bladder to see clear . They remind me to take progesterone at least 2h before transfer and making sure I take 3x at least every 6 or 8 h . Cx

So do you think they haven’t followed the correct procedure from your experience ? Xx

I don’t know hun ....what I know after first cycle we change the clinic and everything there felt so right . I remember my second cycle on ET day when we was on way out I open the door and said “ we pregnant “! ...my hubby said don’t say that yet ...but I was so so positive and felt so right.

This last cycle they increase my dosage of gonal f and I had good respond considering my AMH level is 5.7.

They find cyst “on way” but they drain so I move on with injections . They collected 14 eggs 10 where mature and 6 fertilise.

I had one embryo transfer grade A+ and another 3 embryos grade A they freeze.

One from last cycle and 3 from this one ...so I got 4 frostie.

I’m afraid this time didn’t work 😔

My body change after having a baby and due to cyst this cycle was longer . I was very bloated pain in my stomach muscles specially after EC ...my last period I had 2months ago ...so I think was to much for my body to take on so now I need to get off my system all this drugs ...recovery and at least two bleeding to start FET .

Despite didn’t work I wouldn’t change my clinic xx

Hey, I had a transfer last week and they didn’t use an ultrasound either. I asked how they knew where they were putting it without the scanner, she said that the catheter has markings on to guide it to the right place. I’ve spoken to other girls from my clinic who have had successful transfers and they had the same xxx
