Red spotting 8dp5dt and 9dp5dt

Hi,

I’m currently in the tww following a fresh cycle of ivf after previous ivf treatment in 2017. We had two embryos transferred (none to freeze) and I don’t think we will be able to afford to do another round. We had our transfer on 13th June.

Was feeling quite positive until yesterday when I started red spotting yesterday morning. I thought I was getting my period (I am still on progesterone etc) but this then stopped by lunchtime. It’s appeared again this morning and I’m not sure if I’m just getting my period now and if I should give up hope.

I don’t want to test until my official date on Thursday (I can’t bear the heartbreak of looking at another negative test until I actually have to on Thursday). Am I right to consider that this cycle is now over?

Any advice welcome. Feeling very sad.

You could be having implantation bleeding, you never know.....some people get it and others dont. The meds are supposed to keep the bleeding away although I know from experience that doesnt always happen but if its any consolation my bleeding started and didnt stop! Dont give up just yet, its not over till test day....good luck!xx

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I’m heartbroken and I feel like I’ve let everyone down. I don’t like to get upset in front of my partner but it’s so hard. Xx

It does feel like a heavy weight when our bodies wont do as they're meant to! Do try not to hide your feelings from your partner, I always think is better to be open and share all.....a hug from him can make all the difference.....you're a team afterall!xx

Hi Bluemoon. Pleased to hear that you will wait until your correct testing day. The spotting could just be down to some irritation from the pessaries. If it continues you could use them in your back passage. Keeping everything crossed for you. Diane

Hi I am currently on 10dpt and experiencing same thing as you, yesterday started brown spotting and today is more bright red but still very light no clots etc (TMI) I have done a test this morning but test show Negative so far, official test day Wednesday so am now gonna wait till then to test although doesn't feel positive right now. Fingers crossed for your positive result 🤞🤞

I bled early (and around 6-7 weeks) and our little hung on in there. Fingers crossed it just implantation bleeding. Good luck x

Just in case someone comes across this post I unfortunately wasn’t pregnant and full bleeding started later that day. Feeling super sad. X

Really sorry to hear this. I know how terribly disappointing it is.

On my first fresh transfer my period started before I had finished taking the progesterone. When I spoke to my clinic they increased my progesterone so I now have lubion injections as well as cyclogest pessaries. So it might be worth discussing this option with your clinic.
