:-( low amh periods going

Hi all so started stims last night for first ivf cycle ..on highest dose of 450 meriofert.. just chatted to nurses as for past three months my periods have practically been non existent for the past 3 months . Wish I hadn't mentioned it now, possibly a sign that time is running out..I have amh of about 2.8 ( I'm 37) but that has probably decreased since last checked last year.. I had gut feeling my lack of periods was due to something bad ..I started taking maca about the same time so was just hopeful that somehow that had caused it. I'm now feeling ridiculously low again that I'm not going to get any eggs and the cycle will be cancelled and that will be the end of my story for a naturally conceived child. how do people remain so positive? Props to you all that can do it.. I admire you all so much. 😘 i sit and cry most days then stress that the crying is making everything worse! I was also taking proceive max for a year but I'm not sure that was working as my vit d level was so low and that supposedly had the high dose on it, so if the vitd wasn't working doubt the other stuff was working either. I'm now taking the supplements individually ( 200mg q10, dha, folic acid, vit d) but only for last 4 weeks after stopping proceive so i doubt they'll make any difference in time anyway. Urgh...anyone remember then ttc didn't completely consume your every thought?! Sorry for the ramble again! Xxx

I also have low AMH - it was 3.5 last year at just 32 years old. I had noticed my periods were regular but becoming shorter in duration some months. I sensed something was wrong and being told this last year, I honestly thought it was game over. I was very very sad. Got referred for ivf and had to go private as nhs wouldn’t find me with such a low AMH. By some miracle I fell pregnant naturally just before starting - I still can’t believe it. So there is hope!!! Low AMH is just an obstacle but not an impossibility. I have ready many other success stories on here of ladies with low AMH. Of course you are going to feel upset, only natural, but try to focus on other good things in your life too. Don’t give up, there is still hope. Would advise you finding a consultant who specialises in low AMH if you haven’t already.

Good luck with your next round!!! Xxx

Dear Kath

Please don't lose heart. Shame, it's such a rollercoaster for us all.

Have you been under a lot of stress? High stress levels can cause excess Prolactin to inhibit your periods - that's what happened to me. I lost them for a year due to work stress. Perhaps get a blood test from your GP and check....and look at some modalities to get your stress levels down like meditation, yoga, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, breath work, reflexology, Tai Chi & Qui Gong. I took DHEA and my last IVF egg harvest went up 40%... Big hug and don't give up - we need to breathe, relax, open up to receive and try to de-stress as much as possible. Look after yourself xx

Hi kathgibson22, it's such an emotional rollercoaster isn't it😔 I was diagnosed with an amh of 3.6 and lm due to have an operation to remove and endometrioma cyst on my ovary. My periods have always been regular but have reduced in cycle length for the last few years, however this month l have got spotting during ovulation and before my period(waiting for period to start currently day3 of spotting) which has never happened to me before. It has really got me worried, are my periods going to stop due to my amh or is the spotting due to the cyst? On top of that lm due to have my cyst removed and chances are my amh will reduce further, l really dont know if l should go ahead with it.

I hope your lvf is successful, fingers crossed for you x
