Home based AMH test

Hi, I am looking to start my treatment soon. My clinic suggested that I do their home AMH test first as part of their assessment. I was told before that these home AMH test is not reliable. Can I check if anyone has done a home AMH test before / recently and if this is reliable?

Many thanks

I did one via an online company in Nov of last year and it showed AMH of 17.4 and then has it done by NHS fertility clinic in Feb which came back as 20.3, I think it can vary. In my experience it'd probably give you a rough idea of what your levels are. Hope that helps, if you have any other questions just let me know :) x

Many thanks for your response. I guess the variation you had is not significant which is fine. Do you mind if I ask which online company you used (or you can PM me)? Just want to compare the price. My clinic is charging £90 for the AMH test.

Thanks

Hi,

I haven’t done one personally but there was a lady on here a few months ago that did. She was a bit suspicious of the result so redid it at her hospital and the results varied massively. I don’t think I’f trust an at home test as much x

Thanks.

Yes, I am not too sure how reliable it is but my clinic (a large one) has asked me to do it. I guess there might be different labs offering this.

That’s true, I imagine one purchased through a clinic rather than just online will be more reliable or they wouldn’t use it. Good luck! X

Yes, expect that the clinic is charging a lot money for a single test :(

Thanks

I have just come across your thread , I did my AMH test at home last month at the request of my clinic ahead of my first IVF. I would assume this is reliable as my consultant told me to do it but I haven’t had my AMH tested before so I haven’t got anything to compare to, and it cost me £100 xx my result came back at 7.9 which is low for my age xx good luck with whatever you decide !
