Failed ivf but brown discharge

I had my first ivf on 4th of this month. I was asked to take a HPT 14 days post my 5 day frozen embryo transfer ( on 18th). Unfortunately it was a BFN. After all the wining I called up my clinic to give the news. To my surprise they did not ask me to come for a blood test but instead advised me just call when my next cycle starts ( shocking for me as they refused to even discuss what could have gone wrong). However from the same night until today I have brown discharge not too strong, appears only when I wipe it. Should I consider this as my period or still hope it's implantation bleeding. Has anyone experienced this weird situation?

Im sorry to hear that you have has a negative result. Im been through many myself. Not all clinics do blood tests (mine doesnt)....the theory being that if you havent had a positive test by day 14 after a 5 day embro that this attempt hasnt been successful and is unlikely to be. It sounds like your withdrawal bleed is on its way but you should get proper red bleeding like a period - I always found mine pretty uncomfortable. I presume they have asked you to stop your medication?xx

Yes they dis ask me to stop my medication.. I hope atleast my second ivf cycle works.. crossing my fingers..

Sorry to hear about your BFN. Like Cinderella my clinic doesn't do a blood test either, and also don't discuss the round on the phone when you phone to tell them your result - instead you can ask for an appt with your consultant to go through what you might change etc for the next round.

Sounds like the start of your withdrawal bleed and will get heavier over time and be normal blood, just sometimes takes a while to get going especially when you have been on lots of drugs. My cycles are always a bit screwed for a few months post a round so don't be surprised if AF doesnt come bang on time next month xx

Hi, I know this post was a while ago but I’m experiencing the same after stopping the progesterone / negative test, 5 days of occasional brown discharge, with no red blood insight. Did you end up having a more normal period eventually in the 2 weeks after stopping the meds?
