Hi,

So after having 16 eggs collected on Monday, only 3 made to good quality and to be frozen today.

Is it odd to feel gutted that it was only 3 out of 16?

I don’t know how many is normal or a good amount.

I am still recovering from the egg collection it’s been a very hard week as I have been in a lot of pain each day - now I feel one day I might have to go through it all again.

Any comments would be appreciated 😔

X

I know how you feel. From 11 eggs, we only got 1 good embryo. I was shocked (and a bit gutted). Nothing even to freeze. The previous round we only had 6 eggs but 2 good embryos. I don't know what is supposed to be "normal" when my own rounds aren't even consistent with each other! You're doing really well and it's normal for the numbers to drop, unfortunately. Sending love. x

Hi,

Just to say that I have also experienced the same and I feel your frustration!

We had EC last week and only got 1 blastocyst to freeze and last time we got 7 (1year ago) I was in complete shock and felt devastated.

Now Ive had a week to reflect on it and read lots of other ladies experiences I've realised that there is normal to have a lot of variation and there is no 'normal'. It's just a really hard thing to accept!

Please don't feel alone, you've done so well to get this far, be proud of yourself and be kind to yourself :) xxx
