So I'm home after the egg collection this morning. A bit sore and rough around the edges but generally okay. They collected 7 eggs which is a bit lower than I was hoping for but I know it's quality over quantity. We will get the call from embryology tomorrow to see how many have fertilised.
I'm feeling good generally but a little disappointed with 7 eggs. Just keeping my fingers crossed that some fertilise well and we have at least 1 that makes it to the end ๐๐ค๐ค

Well done on your retrieval!! Glad it went ok. I understand the hang ups on numbers, but you said it, quality over quantity!! Wishing your little 7 all the best of luck!! ๐ค๐ค๐ค xxxx
Hi Stevie. Congrats on the 7 eggs. It's impossible not to have an number in mind (especially after they tell you number of follicles etc.) and also to compare to others, but 7 is good and I have every hope for them. I know, I know; I'm one to talk after being upset earlier about my numbers dwindling. I have come through the disappointment now, though, and I am back to hope! Super good luck for the call tomorrow. xxxxx

7 is still a good number, try not to get too hung up, as you said, quality over quantity is what we want. Good look for your phone call tomorrow โค xx
I'm focusing on the fact that it's quality not quantity! Just waiting for my phone call now ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Hi Stevie85, Im 40 and I had my egg collection on Weds this week and only 7 eggs collected. 5 of them were fertilised and now I have 4 heading to day 5 transfer on Monday. Two are grade 1 and two are grade 2. Hopefully all 4 will survive till Monday and I will look to transfer 1 and hopefully freeze 3. As they say itโs not quantity but quality. Fingers crossed for you.
How did you get on? I had 2 get to day 5 blastocyst. I was starting to hatch and the other one was not far behind. Had them both transferred yesterday morning so just a waiting game now. The other 2 although continued to grow till day 6, they didnโt have the right structure so unfortunately we donโt have any to freeze. Also we were advised that the clinic had received information around Corona and they advised not to do any transfers and to holt any IVF in progress. As they had nothing from HEFA we still had the option to transfer which we did as felt we had come so far I didnโt want to wait anymore.
Good luck and hopefully you wonโt be hit by the corona virus impact!!
Congratulations! 7 is a great number! They got 7 on my first round and that translated into one transfer & 3 Frosties, so 7 is good! As you said, quality over quantity- plus you can afford a few to drop off with 7 & still have a good few left for transfer/ freezing.
Good luck with the call today! Iโll keep everything crossed for you! ๐ค๐ป๐๐ค๐ป๐ xxx
Thank you! ๐ค๐ค I'm really hoping that there will be at least one for freezing as well as a really good quality one for transfer. The waiting is killing me!
Wishing you the very best. They obtained 8 eggs from me, 5 of which were mature and 4 of which fully fertilised into very strong grades blastocysts. Please don't worry about how many were collected, I know it's easier said than done, but I just takes one ๐
How did you get on? I had my egg collection this morning and too got 7 eggs. I was pleased, I figure 7 is better than 6 right? Taking every little win where I can at the moment. Hope it progresses well for you x
