Wondering if anyone can help me. So we've been trying to convince a child for coming up a year...I made a dcr for last week and she said can't be referred till we've been trying at least a year...but they could do some basic blood tests...one anyday of 1 to day 5 of cycle and one on day 22..? She didn't check any blood pressure of weight or anything else...so came on today and went for a blood tests and they said I can ring up for the results after 2pm on Friday
So want I'm wanting to know is what are they looking for in these blood tests...?
I have a feeling that once I've rung up for results there will be no follow up appunless something isn't right...?
Sorry all this is a first for me...so just wanting some help..
Thanks in advance

I had blood tests on day 3 of my cycle to check FSH and LH levels. They found out I have Polycystic Ovaries. On day 21 they check your Progesterone, to see if you’ve ovulated that month. I just did this test this morning and I will find out on Friday or Monday. Good luck!
Ok thanks thats interesting? Were u specifically told day 3..? As when ive googled it always comes up with having blood tests on day 3..but my dcr said any day 1 to 5 of cycle....but she didn't say what it was for.??? So I did today on day 1 just because it was a time I could go...
My bloods for my baseline are always taken day 1 to 4 of my period. It was a long time ago now that I had my initial fertility testing, but they are usually checking your levels of FSH, AMH, LH, Progesterone, Estrogen etc. These can indicate what your ovarian reserve looks like, or if you might have PCOS or other issues.
I would say sometimes we need to advocate strongly for ourselves, I felt ignored in the general Drs office also, so be prepared to make a follow up appointment and ask them what it all means etc. When I finally saw a specialist I was diagnosed with PCOS and so they started me on medications. My husband also had to get his blood and sperm tested prior to us being allowed to start treatment.
Yes I agree ! I always dread going to my dcr because they just seem a bit like they don't care to much! She never explained what these blood tests were for and it wasn't till I got home I thought she hardly bothered to check or explain anything really atall
Yes husband also need to Get his sperm etc tested also..
