ā€¢10 Replies

Hi went for bloods today and the nurse was horrible šŸ˜£ she was like I wouldnā€™t take anymore pregnancy tests I was like it jumped from 1-2 and now itā€™s 3+ she was having none of it saying yea well I wouldnā€™t take anymore tests... bloods are more important... if thatā€™s the case then why tell us to take a pregnancy test after transfer In the first place! Also she was saying any kind of bleed In pregnancy is not good... yes I know that! But at least reassure me with that. Argh šŸ˜–

Oh lovely. Sorry the nurse was horrible to you. I know you're extremely stressed and anxious, and that doesn't help. Definitely get a second opinion and someone more reassuring. My clinic doesn't do bloods, so I haven't been through this situation, but can only imagine how worried you are. When do you get the results of the blood test?

Oh my word! Maybe her Aunt Flo was there or her cat bit her this morning ! Some nurses just take the reality thing a bit to strongly and come across as a wicked witch! Just think of her as the blood angel and await the results. Delete her words from your brain , I guarantee ya sheā€™s not worrying one bit about you!

Im sorry that you didnt get a very sympathetic nurse today! Hang on in there, hopefully you'll get those numbers back and all will be looking fine.xx

Thatā€™s awful Iā€™m so sorry you endured that, not what you needed at all.

Actually bleeding in early pregnancy is incredibly common so she is so wrong there! I had bleeding with my son at 7 weeks ( whose 21!) & my 9 month old daughter between 6-14 weeks even lost fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks.

All the midwives I spoke to ( and there were many!) said unless I was doubling over in pain with gushing blood that a bit of spotting ( ie only when you wipe) us very common & not to worr( easier said than done!)

My sister bled at 5 weeks with my niece, my mum bled with me & my sister, my sister in law bled throughout the whole pregnancy with her son. All these ladies had healthy babies.

Rest up, I ended up signed off on bed rest as the gp knew what a struggle it was for us to be pregnant. Put yourself first xxx

Thank you that really helps would you say if the numbers are doubling is a good sign and not leaning towards miscarriage? Xxx

I would say if the numbers are increasing looks like pregnancy is progressing well. I never had bloods. I was a serial tester with my daughter tho!!!šŸ¤£

I did have a chemical pregnancy between my son & daughter. It was such a different experience to the spotting lots of abdominal pain & heavy bleeding that didnā€™t just stop confirmed by BFN soon after. But with my daughter it was still showing strong positive tests after spotting.

Early weeks are very tough for any mum to be particularly awful after a long & painful struggle to conceive, but you will get through it ā¤ļø xxx

It's never nice is it having a blood test and it's worse when the person taking it isn't very sympathetic!

At my surgery the blood nurses have always been nice and caring and I was left wondering what the fuss was over!

I certainly didnā€™t feel like that today... my gp surgery the nurse who took my bloods last Friday was more nice and sympathetic.. the nurse today made me feel not pregnant! when Infact I know I am going by my pregnancy tests and the bloods from today from my gp confirming it is ongoing xx
