So undecided and bit confused with my AMH level .

Hello ladies my last post we have consultations with doctor to go through fresh or to use the one we got frozen one . I receive the letter from them what we discussed and that if I use my frozen embryo I got 35% to 40. % chances that have good chances to work... but us im turning 38 and my AMH level is 5.7 he recommended to do fresh cycle. So I went to my GP 2day to ask her if she can tell me if I ever had done in past AMH level . So when we went through first ivf in aug 2014 my AMH level was 15.7 pmol/L . I’m keep searching for how they Measure that AMH levels and I’m still confused 🤷‍♀️ So it look like we gonna go for fresh cycle....but is it possible that my AMH level drop so much over this 4 years ??? Please is any of u Ladie knows how that work ???xx

Unfortunately our AMH levels can drop a bit in 4 years especially as we get past 35. However in saying that different places seem to get different results so there is a bit of variation there and fluctations. Most of the clinics only use AMH as an indicator as how much drugs they have to use so it doesnt necessarily mean very poor egg numbers or egg quality. I'd be tempted to use the frozen embryo first as the prep for this is all quite quick and you could move forward to a fresh cycle soon afterwards if it doesnt work and if it does work then.....well that one speaks for itself!xx

Hi cinderella thank u for reply. My first ivf I was on injection don’t remember now what dose but they collected 11eggs few of them fertilised but they only transferred blastocyst and morula unfortunately nothing to freeze and that was 4 years ago. Over 2years ago I had different drugs I was on pen gonal f 300 this time they didn’t collected us much I think only 5 and I had one transferred which I got baby girl 18 months old and this time one good to freeze. If we had more then one frostie I wouldn’t go for fresh one ... If fresh one doesn’t work I need to wait 3 months with frozen only four weeks. But if frozen will work I will be over the moon but if we want more baby’s and considering my age then chances for good outcome from fresh may be not us good 😔 I’m asking my self if I’m ready to go through fresh now like now or am I gonna be ready in later on ... My hubby relying on my finally decision what how I feel and what I think ...and that doesn’t help me ...😔😔

Yes I guess if you were looking at having the option/chance of having more than one more child then fresh would be the right way forward so can see your thinking there. I was more thinking you just wanted one more child. I think the big thing to remember is that yes your AMH has dropped but that was over 4 years to get to that stage and for the sake of a few months it wont drastically drop away. Good luck with your decision, it is hard when one of you leaves you to decide.xx

Hi Olivia. Remember firstly, that you one frozen embryo is quite safe and will not age, so if you use it now or in a couple of years you till get that same percentage of success that was quoted. You may find that your AMH has gone down a bit in 4 years, but hopefully not by too much. Having your FSH checked on Day 2 or 3 of your cycle will be a good indicator as to how well you will respond to stimulation. So it may be an idea to go for fresh again while you have a chance of a reasonable AMH level. Hope all goes well with whatever is decided. Diane

Hello Diane thank u for helping me to make my final decision. I cannot sleep over this past few days just thinking and searching and Reading and asking my self what to do . My clinic send me a email with what test they want me to do in my GP. Prolactin and FSH I all ready done 3 Months ago but it doesn’t do harm to do again. My period come 2day so I got appointment booked for Monday coming to do some LH, prolactin, FSH , TSH and Testosterone. I hope that God give us another miracle 🙏 thank u Diane xx
