Feel different after laperoscopy?

Hi there, I had my first laparoscopy about 6 months ago to remove some endo. What I have noticed is everything feels different. I get way more stomach pains and a churning feeling particularly during ovulation. Has anyone else felt quite different after this surgery?

Thanks!

I did tbh. A few months after my laparoscopy, my metabolism changed, I was very bloated a lot of the time and my cycle totally changed. However they removed a small cyst from each ovary when they did the laparoscopy and I think the changes could have been a result of this work on the ovaries. So, I don't mean to be alarmist but if you think anything adverse has happened as a result of it, I would really push to get it checked out. My doc was very dismissive initially which is why I think it's important as you know your own body.

Thank you for that, interesting what you say about your metabolism. Have you changed your diet at all? Just reading about diet on the endo section of this forum. My gp entirely dismissed my query on endo, as did my fertility clinics, so had to go private to get checked- which confirmed it. So frustrating. Thankfully I had my lap

done on nhs. My cycle has changed too, periods way heavier, but I did not have work done on my ovaries so that may explain your changes as you say. Hope your treatment works for you. Good luck. X

I had two laps, one two years ago to remove tubal adhesions and one last year to remove my left tube (had a hydrosalpinx) but i felt exactly the same after them.

I always had pains around ovulation time, they were there before ops and continued after. Hope all goes well for you. x

I guess that is good you have had no change in pain before or after. Sorry to hear you had your tube removed. Hope all goes well for you too. X

Hi, yes after my first lap I felt so much difference. I had never in my life had ovulation pain or daily pain. After the lap I was in agony for ovulation and developed chronic daily pain. Not sure if definitely related but prior to that lap I only had severe pain for 3 to 4 days of the month

I’m sorry to hear you have daily pain with it and such pain during ovulation. Sounds horrible. I assume you don’t take ibuprofen either so hard to manage the pain. Yeah I never had any pain or feeling of discomfort at all around periods so it’s a big change. I have read on the endo page cutting out gluten and alcohol

And caffeine around ovulation could help. I’m going to give that a shot! Good luck.
