Asking for a friend

I mentioned earlier this week my bestest friend told me she was pregnant but was having some blood clots. She was scanned last weekend and it was there but they couldn’t say if it would be at the 12wk scan or why she was bleeding. She had a suspected miscarriage in the summer last year.

Sorry for the details but she describes the tissue as fish guts. She’s got to wait 2 weeks until anything can be investigated.

Anything positive or experiences similar will be greatly appreciated so that I can help her in some way?

Thank you x

Yes they scanned her and couldn’t tell her why she was clotting but there was a heartbeat x

I would think 2 weeks is a bit too long, when it happened to me it was 4 days. I would get her to ring Monday x

I would do private scans in the meantime just to keep monitoring. My friend had to do some injections on her tummy for blood clotting for the entire pregnancy, not sure what it’s called.

Would definitely pay for private scan especially being 10 weeks pregnant. It does happen with a haematoma, had terrible bleeds with my first for 10 weeks with my first. Hope her baby is fine, bits a worrying time for any mum

I’d get checked again before the 2 weeks scan. I had similar issues between week 6 and 8 and was scared as hell to miscarry. It turned out I had a subchorionic hematoma. Doc increased my progesterobe daily shot (I’m an ivf patient) and told me not to travel and to rest (not full bed rest), to not lift weights, to drink lots of fluids and eat well. Hematoma luckily resolved itself by week 9 and I’m still pregnat ever since :)

All the best to your friend!
