I am new to this so I thought I should say a big hello to everyone!
I am 41 and have just finished my first ever cycle of ivf and I’m on 5dp5dt. I haven’t experienced any major symptoms apart from a couple of pinches on my left side, each lasting no more than 30 seconds or so. Other than that I have only been feeling some cyclogest side effects including slight breast tenderness and tiredness. My OTD is not till 9th Feb, by then I will be 11dp5dt. I am trying very hard not to test early but it is proving more difficult by the day especially I keep reading someone of getting BFP 5-6 days after transfer...good luck to all fellow ivf’ers

Its so hard to resist from doing a pregnancy test, but it drives you even more crazy if you take one. Regardless wishing you lots of luck for your OTD x
Good luck, I always manage not to test early just because I think I’d struggle to keep taking the meds if it was a negative and it would be hard to remember that that could be false if that makes sense?xx
Thanks Hifer, I thought I was the only one in my 40s on here. How lovely to know there are many more others! Good luck with your 2ww and hope we both get a BFP! How are you feeling? X
No you’re definitely not the only one, far from it! I’ve been feeling ok really until today (5dpt) but starting to fret a bit! I’ve got quite a lot planned today so that will take my mind of it. I just wish there was no symptoms at all because every time you get one and it goes you start to worry that it’s gone!! Fingers crossed for us both 🤞xx
Hi hun I've done a fresh and a fet both I tested early fresh tested day 3 fet day 4 both was positive but I tell you now once you test the worry kicks in if I can give you any advice from a lady that used to pee on a few sticks a day dont do it live in the bubble once you test there is no going back weather its positive or negative wait till test day on my fresh I had every symptom going on my fet I had no symptoms what so ever I'm now 18weeks pregnant and still no symptoms wouldn't even no I was pregnant if I hadnt done ivf.. please take it from someone that's been there wait till test day you can do this you got this sending you lots of luck and have everything crossed for you xx
Hello Mishmash I used to test early when I was trying naturally and it was torture, so you are right I must try hold off till OTD! I am feeling some slight cramps today but like testing , i feel bad either way (no symptoms I’m worried and I am still worried with symptoms). Good luck with your pregnancy! Is this your first? X
Hey, welcome! I'm older too at 42 and also in the 2ww. This is my 8th transfer so you'd think I'd be a pro by now....nope still googling g everything I've googled before in the 2ww!🤣🤪🤯 Wishing you lots of luck.xx
Thank you Cinderella. When did you have your transfer? Wow 8th transfer!!! How did the previous cycles go? I wish you the best of luck too! We all need it. X
Just transferred on Saturday past, so 3dp5dt.🤪 Weve had 4xBFN, then 2xBFP which we lost both and last one another BFN. Certainly do need all the luck in the world!!xx
Wouldn’t it be brilliant if we all get our BFP this time round x
Welcome! I am 42 (43 in March) so you are a young whippersnapper in comparison!
Well done for holding off testing, I have never got a BFP before 8dp5det and it really achieves nothing because if its negative you get really down and if its positive you panic every day from there that its still positive and not a chemical - so ignorance is bliss although ruddy hard!
(we all know my next round I will be testing every day haha)
Very true Daisy, ignorance is bliss, I am having a day off and am spoiling myself at home with all the food that I love! I will be back on my diet next week after my OTD! Are you currently on your 2ww? X
Haha sounds like a plan! My nurses always say treat yourself during IVF - you have to sacrifice so much and go through so much you should do what you fancy doing and give yourself little rewards!
No 2ww yet - am about to start my 4th round - hopefully when AF arrives - she is due in about 2 weeks
