IUI converted to IVF

Has anyone had an IUI cycle converted to IVF because of to many follicles?

I have just done 8 days of gonal F (100) and buresalin (30) and had my scan which showed to many follicles for IUI so continued with two days of gonal (50) so half the amount and today was re-scanned and I have 7 follicles ready and juicy at the correct size and will trigger tonight for egg collection Friday, I have previously had 2 IUI’s with one or two with BFN and one IVF with 4 so 7 is the best yet, anyone else been in this situation? 🌸💖

Maybe my clinic is less ethical, but I did three IUI cycles with 7-9 follicles from clomid. None of them worked and we had to do IVF anyway. I didn’t find out until years later, but I have endometriosis and pretty bad scarring in my tubes.

Oh, and I had 21 follicles on my IVF cycle. 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized, 13 made it to day 5. We did a fresh transfer with one and froze 8 5AA blasts. So presumably there were good eggs in all those IUI cycles, something else was just wrong.
