Carry on as normal or relax after FET?

Hi everyone,

Due to have my FET soon and just wanted to know what I can do to try and increase my chances of a BFP? Do I just carry on as normal and go straight back to work (I sit at a desk so nothing to strenuous) or go home and lay in bed for the rest of the day?I did this last time and got a BFN so not sure whether to do again, but I hear it's good to relax the womb after transfer. Or is it best just to carry on as normal? Any positive stories of what you did straight after FET? I know I'm overthinking lol but I want to be prepared in case I need to take a day off work etc xxx

P.s any other tips other than acupuncture after FET? Brazil nuts? ♥️🤔

When I had my very first cycle I was carry on as normal ....bfn.

My second cycle straight after transfer I wear my cosy socks and pyjama had some nice hot soup put some film and relax on sofa.

I drunk at least around 2 l water a day eat some pineapple 🍍 in very little amount. I eat what “pregnant “woman can and cannot eat.

I stack on sofa for first few days after that I was doing thing as normal but sensitive.

I went to see my family and friend trying to keep my mind busy but I always make sure to keep my feet warm. My baby girl is 2 years and 7 months old .

Maybe take easy in those first few days hun relax and just don’t do things u don’t feel doing. If u feel going back to work if that will help u to keep your mind busy then go for it .

Good luck us I’m gonna start my frozen cycle too .xx

When’s your FET? I have started thickening my lining yesterday, so it will be a few weeks or so. It’s our first donor FET so a little nervous after 4 IVF with my own eggs and 4 IUIs

Hey Justus1,

In about 10 days I have my FET.

Ahh that's really exciting 🥰 you've had so many attempts so hopefully this time is your time and the donor egg will make all the difference. Are you having it in the UK? ♥️ xxx

Thank you soo much for your message. It’s been a long road. Donor eggs is our last chance. We have been given 5 embryos with this donor soo 5 attempts. I am praying this will work. Yes, we are having treatment in uk. We did Poland’s last year but to get the donor we needed we had to have treatment in uk this time.

We will probably have the FET at the same time. But I’m lining normal takes longer to thicken than a normal person 🤣🤣 what are you taking to thicken your lining? I’m still bleeding, hoping it will stop this weekend

Yes 5 embryos is amazing! But hopefully it works this time around for you ♥️ I'm taking 6mg of Progynova a day. Then I'm due to take lubion injections. What about you? Xx

Ya, I’m hoping it will work first time. Not sure how many more attempts I can take. Especially with the last two ending in miscarriage (with my own eggs). new year new start and all that.

They have me on 2 patches every other day (forgot what these are called) and progynona tablets, 2 tablets twice a day. X

Hi there

After my first fresh cycle I rested in bed that day and although I didn’t take any time off work I definitely did take it easy. Unfortunately we got a BFN.

My next fresh cycle I went straight from the transfer to an event I was working at and worked every day and we got a BFP.

We have just done a FET and I was running around after our twin toddlers, lifting them in and out of cots and high chairs and lifting them into their car seats etc and we were so fortunate to get another BFP.

I definitely feel like getting on with your life as normal (within reason - no skydiving etc 😆) helps. It should keep your mind busy and hopefully help with stress levels.

Everyone is different though and I’m sure there will be plenty of people who would of taken it easy and rested and got a BFP, so this is just worked for me.

Wishing you lots of luck. Xx

And I agree, best not to focus on it too much and relax as much as possible. Last time I defo put too much pressure on myself xxx

Hello dear

I would really like you to carry on with your normal life

Tomorrow I will be completing 17 weeks

FET success really depends on two factors , the quality of your embryo and the quality of the endometrium

After FET, you can relax for a day or two if you feel but just dnt carry anything heavy or do some strenuous activity

I remember after I had finished my FET , I straight got up from the chair, there was no resting time

I walked straight out of hospital and that day I went to city office with my husband

I walked a lot that from the parking lot till city office building

Even after that I went to shopping the next day

Again the next week as there was a flood situation at our place three of my friends families were at my home for an overnight stay and that was really hectic as their kids were running all over my house and I couldn’t rest

Just dnt do heavy lifting , try eating healthy and avoid outside food as that might give you unnecessary infections

No hot baths in the tub

Just showers

Eat healthy and try to avoid extremely bumpy roads, I am not sure if that would affect the implantation but it’s better to take care

Other wise it might make you feel regretful if FET fails

All the best with your FET

I hope you get a BFP😊
