Heartbroken and confused

Hi everyone,

I’m just wondering if anyone can help. I got a bfp on my OTD on Friday. I tested again this morning and the clear blue test came back as not pregnant and the Tesco one I used came back as negative. However ten minutes later the Tesco one changed to pregnant. I’m so confused. I have a blood test tomorrow. But does this mean I’m not pregnant anymore? Has this happened to anyone before? xx

Did you do a digital on your OTD and was it"pregnant"?

I think it doesn't look good. I've had two chemicals and it usually starts with lines not getting darker over a few days. I'm hoping tomorrow's blood test and a follow up blood test 48 hours after the first prove me wrong💜

Hi yes I did the clear blue digital one on my OTD, and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant. The Tesco one came up as positive straight away on my OTD too. Today was a different story. Just feel really upset as it’s the first time I’ve ever been pregnant xx

Aww it's such a cruel thing to experience. It's not fair to have your hopes up and then dashed. If it does turn out to be a chemical and once you've taken time to grieve please consider having an ERA done to double check the exact timing of your next FET. I had a chemical in August, did the ERA and discovered I needed to adjust my progesterone for an extra 12 hours prior to transfer. I also added clexane as I discovered a blood clotting issue pai-1. Don't give up, I know it's disheartening but it's all steps towards getting your next bfp 💛

Hi. From what I gather, you could be pregnant but your HCG levels are too low to be picked up on a digital test. I hope this is good news, but your blood test will give you a definitive answer tomorrow. I hope it's good news for you! X

Thank you. I did the digital one on my OTD too and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant. Sorry I didn’t make that clear in my post. I just don’t think it’s looking good xx

Im 13 weeks pregnant and never got a positive on a home testing kit. Its so hard but try and wait for your blood test 💗

Hey Gem, the digital ones aren’t known for picking up HCG as well as others. Which test did you use Friday? Hope you’re ok xxx

Not bad thank you. Thing is if it was a chemical your HCG levels should still be picked up Id have thought.

Sorry you have this worry hun, I understand you feeling upset. Are you able to pick up a FRER test tomorrow? I know you’re having bloods done but you’ll have to wait until the next lot to really know.

I have my blood test at 8.30am and apparently the latest I’ll have my result is 2pm. So I think I’ll just do that. Thank you xx

Aww goodluck darling! Sometimes the hcg just isn’t strong enough, your urine was more diluted on the next day. Let us know how you get on x

I would never trust clear blue digital. You should try again with first response early result test. They are so much more reliable. Good luck. I will be thinking of you xxx

So sorry to read this, I hope it all works out for you. It could be a chemical pregnancy I’ve had this before where I got a positive but then turned to a negative.

I had to have blood tests in end so at least you will know for sure. Heartbreaking thinking of you.

But the fact one is still showing pregnant could mean you are ok x

So sorry you are going through this - I’m sad to say that in my experience I Had the same thing happen to me and had a blood test which confirmed I was no longer pregnant. I really hope this isn’t the case but wanted to share that with you. Thinking of you and hoping for the best xxx

Hi Gem,

Most pregnancy tests if left for long enough, for example 5-10 minutes can show a positive. If they were both negative I suspect that is the accurate result.

Oh Gem this happened to me too. The digital test was not pregnant but the others said I was. I went in for a blood test and my HCG was just very low so I was pregnant. However on my second blood test that week my levels dropped and it ended in a chemical pregnancy. It’s so so heartbreaking to feel the joy of pregnancy and then have it crushed. I hope so much that your story has a happier ending than mine. Get in to your clinic for blood tests instead of home tests to ease your mind. Best wishes xxx

Thank you. I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’ve just had my blood test done and they’re going to ring me this afternoon with the result. The consultant said it’s very unlikely I’m still pregnant after the urine test yesterday, and if I am the levels will be low xx

Try & distract yourself whilst you are waiting as best you can. Remember that we are in such a unique position & many other ladies that aren’t going through IVF also have chemical pregnancy’s, they just don’t know about them as it’s still super early! It may well just not be your time but that will come. Let me know how you get on & happy to chat further if you need xxx

Hello Gem2410,please dont stress your self yet, sometimes home pregnancy test is not always right. Just trust God and be positive. Till you do the blood test tomorrow. I wish you all the best of luck❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Tests can change depending on the hcg concentration on your urine. You may get different results by using early morning urine vs. late afternoon, for example. I hope everything is fine!
