how many embryo transfers (fresh or frozen) before you had a live birth? (trying to do a mini experiment here to figure out how many more transfers I should do). I have done 1 fresh + 3 frozen transfers. No live birth. yet.

how many embryo transfers (fresh or frozen) before you had a live birth?
I have done 2 fresh transfers and 4 frozen transfers.....still no live birth yet (BFP's on my last 2 but didnt make it) and gearing up for transfer no.7 with embryos 11 & 12.xx
wow. Thanks for sharing that. I am trying to figure out how many more transfers I should keep doing. good luck for your 7th!
Thank you! If Im honest we were almost at the end of the line after transfer number 4 but got a positive and it was like a carrot being dangled.....spurred us on to keep going for a while but heck its hard work keeping that optimism going!! Best of luck to you.xx
Totally! I currently feel like that! Like I am getting to the end of the line after my 4th transfer. But I did get a BFP at 10dp5dt of the 4th one but ended up getting my period 2 days later. The lengthiest period I have ever gotten too...bleeding out for a full 5 days. It is small consolation but it was the first time I ever saw a BFP on a CB. I wanna keep going too.
Hi,
I’m same as you, had 1 fresh and 3 frozen. Had Bfp with fresh that ended in MMc and with frozens I’ve had one chemical which sounds like you’ve experience too above. Sorry you had to go through that- it’s pants. And my other 2 frozens have been 👎 negative. Sorry that doesn’t answer your question!! Xx
Hopefully this one will be my take home baby. I’ve had three transfers, one fresh (BFP but MMC 10 weeks) and two frozen one BFN and the other BFP which I’m now 9.5 weeks with but things looking much better on scans than they were with my MMC so I’m optimistic this is the one xx
I had 2 fresh and 2 frozen my baby boy was my 2nd fresh transfer. Good luck with your journey 💕
It took a fresh and frozen cycle to get my son. BFP with both, but a MMC at 9.5 weeks with the first.
Just had a FET trying for #2 and got a BFP but then had a MMC at 8 weeks.
We had one fresh and two frozen. Our fresh was a BFN, first frozen a BFP but ended in a MMC at 10 weeks and we’ve just had a little boy from our second and final FET x
I had 1 FET and BFN, 1 fresh and MMC of twins at 10 weeks and I’m getting ready to do another FET in November with our 2 Frosties xx
I had 6 transfers. 2 fresh and 4 frozen. 3 bfps. 2 mmcs and a live birth xx
I have done 1 fresh and 3 frozen. I got a live birth from both my fresh embryo and the last of my 3 frozen embryos.
I think it depends on your reason for infertility as to how long it will take. Sometimes it is just a numbers game (like with me and my frozen embryos) whereas other times there is an issue stopping you from getting pregnant or staying pregnant and in that case until you figure out what the issue is then you’re unlikely to be successful. The more transfers you do the more you can build up a pattern to try and determine if there is some sort of issue that you need to investigate further. Good luck!
Thanks for sharing that! Yeah at this point it looks like unexplained for me and my husband has male factor infertility...which was corrected with using ICSI. I currently have another 10 non-PGS tested frozen blasts.
Yes, I need to figure out what else is preventing me from getting pregnant besides a chromosomal abnormality in the blastocyst. I hope the Dr is able to figure out the issue before I try another transfer.
I have had 1 fresh and 2 frozen. My fresh was negative, period came a week after transfer. My first frozen resulted in a chemical /early miscarriage and I've just came to the end of my second fet. I just tested today at 12dpt 5dt and it was a negative. We're unexplained infertility and have been told it's just down to luck, I would like to have a clear cut reason other than relying on luck. We have 3 frozen 5ab embryos left but its expensive so I'd like some answers before trying again. It's a long and heartbreaking journey
that sounds something like my situation too. it doesn't feel very good when we are spending all this effort, time and hard earned $ for luck. but there is so much that medical science still does not know in terms of the mechanics of embryo implantation. I am also going to demand more tests or something before I try for my next transfer. good luck to you too.
Good luck to you too B_64, I really hope we get our answers. I've always said there's something simple, something easily fixed that's wrong with me but we just haven't had the right checks yet. My consultant is quick to shoot me down when I ask about recurrent implantation failure and reasons for it so I just have to be firm next time or look about a new consultant! We're paying for a service and deserve to be answered x
