Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on the HyCoSy test and an idea on what its like? We had our initial consultation with the infertility clinic this morning and the next step is for me to get this test done.

I know it can be a bit painful - i was told to take paracetamol before and expect some cramping - but just wondering if i'll be OK to go to the appointment alone or will i need to take someone with me to drive back after etc?

Also will i be able to go to work after or it is best to book a day off?

Thanks :-) x

When I had mine it was absolutely fine.... no pain at all! I was really anxious beforehand as I too had heard it was painful but it wasn’t that bad- and I had a blocked tube too xxxxxx

Mind was ok too! A little bit of discomfort but I breathed through it. I took some codeine beforehand. My one remaining tube was fine! Best of luck xx

Hey. I had mine recently and it was fine! I took Ibuprofen and Paracetamol beforehand which helped. I had very minimal cramping during the procedure and nothing afterwards. It was.much better than I expected it to be. I had to get someone to drive me home as per hospital policy but to be honest I was fine. I booked whole day off expecting cramps but didnt get any. Would book off day if you can just incase. Hope it goes well for you xx

Thanks everyone :-) I think i'll try and book a day off just in case. It's nice to know most of you found it wasn't too bad! I'll make sure i take some painkillers before and hopefully it will be ok xx
