Trying to decide when to test

Advice please ladies .... OTD is Wednesday which will be 14dp5dt. I’m wondering whether to test tomorrow just as it’s Sunday and if it’s negative I’d rather absorb that news on a day off than go straight into work. My other option is Tuesday afternoon after work but I know it’s meant to be most accurate first thing in the morning!

Or should I just wait till Wednesday??? Decisions, just wondering what other people have done??

My OTD was 10dp5dt and I got my BFP. I think you should be able to get an accurate result with fmu on Sun. I totally get wanting to have a day to decompress regardless of the outcome. Best of luck hun! Xx

I think we had our transfers on the same day, 20th Feb? My OTD is Monday though? Was yours a five day or three day transfer?xxx

Yes that’s right, mine was a 5 day transfer also, so strange that I have to wait longer! Do you go to the clinic for bloods or use a normal pregnancy test?xx

They gave me a test to use and said to phone to let them know the results then (all being well!) they’ll book me in for a scan in three weeks 🤞🏼🙏🏻💕 What about you?xxx

We have to get a pregnancy test and do it on 14dp5dt and then ring up with results and like you if all is well they will do a scan 3 weeks later xx

I tested early at 9dp5dt as I figured this would be 14 days from when the eggs were fertilised, I also didn’t want the wait for OTD and be negative and me not being able to cope with another negative cycle... I thought if I got in there early and saw a negative result then I would cope better on the OTD. Test on Sunday if you really want to but even if it’s negative you may still get a positive a few days later. It’s hard to know what to do. You can collect your fmu on any of those mornings. You don’t have to test early (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) if you’re not ready, just dispose of it. It may give you some thinking time. On otd you could do the same thing; collect it and test later in the day. Fmu is best which ever day you choose. Good luck. Ps, my otd was always 11dp 5dt xx

My clinic test 11 days after a 5đay embryo transfer and 14 days after a 3 day embryo so should be ok as long as it's fmu. good luck x

Generally wouldn’t advise testing early but my OTD was 10dp5dt and I got my BFP... that’s 14 days after fertilisation so makes sense. Altho my clinic said if I got a BFN I was to wait 2 days and try again. Maybe try that?

Thanks all, i tested this morning but BFN 😭 so thinking that it probably hasn’t worked again this time. I didn’t realise you could collect in the morning and test later thanks tugsgirl might use that trick next time!xx

My otd was 11dpt5dt and I was lucky enough it was on a Saturday. Maybe try again on the morning of your otd but I can see why it’s difficult before work.

My transfer was also on 20th feb. and the OTD is tomorrow, so 12 days. Last time my OTD was 11dp5dt, and I don't know why it's different from time to time. Last time was a fresh transfer, but this time it's a natural FET. So excited!!

I tested 2 days before my HCG test and got my BFP! Thank God the HCG confirmed in fact we are expecting!!

Our day to test officially as per hospital was 10 days after, I started testing from 5 days though and all was negative. And had a negative result on the official day. It’s so hard to decide either way. So much good luck to you thou. X

It’s awful. It really is heart breaking, i think we were totally mental and emotionally unprepared for it not to work. Sorry to hear your negative, you still have time to test though hey until your official day. Take care lovely and good luck I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you xx

If I was you I’d test on Sunday if you can’t get your OTD off work. From day 10 you should get a result. Good luck! Xxxx
