Ask your clinic to explain aquascan to you - it is to show the outline of the cavity of the womb and HyCoSy is to show if the tubes are clear .But ask clinic to explain both procedures to you fully so you understand the situation .Take care and good luck for the future
An aquascan is a procedure to enlarge your womb. A womb is like a balloon so they will blow it up and insert saline fluid and they will check to see if everything is okay. It's an uncomfortable experience but doesn't last too long but I do advise to take paracetamol and/or ibuprofen half an hour before hand. It was an essential test at my clinic before proceeding to do an IVF cycle. I guess it's a tick box exercise.
Ok if it must be done it must be done - they are adamant about it. I have to get everything possible done to prep for this transfer as I only have 1 embryo left. Just the cost of all this is so high....x
I don't think it has to be done, although my clinic made out like it was mandated but turns out I think I could have said no if I felt very strongly. It was quite interesting (our place calls it a 3d SIS) like others have said it was pretty uncomfortable but in my case it showed up all sorts of things that they believe would lead to 70% chance of miscarriage and/or implantation failure. I guess if you are reliant on your one embryo its worth being in tip top position for transfer but equally chances are it won't show anything up if you have had a successful pregnancy previously although I guess things can change xx

Thanks that is good to know - it sounds good for peace of mind....this advice has made me want to proceed now thanks for this.
Was just getting my head around doing all these procedures and the costs.
Regretting it after getting a BFN would be hard to take.
A BFN having done this at least I know I did all I had to do.
