Distraction suggestions?

Hi everyone, I’m in desperate need on some distraction from the relentless infertility thoughts in my head. This is probably pretty familiar to a lot of you! My birthday is coming up along with some other trigger dates like Christmas and I’m scared of how I’ll cope (last 2 years have been horrendous around that time). I have Netflix and prime video so would love some tv show recommendations but also some other less sedate suggestions. What do you do to distract your thoughts and get to a happier place??? You guys are a precious group of people who I value so much, it’s nice to not be alone in this, sending xoxo and baby wishes to all of you 😘

Hi. I’m sorry that you are going through a bad time. This journey is so hard, and I’m sure lots of people on here will be able to relate to this.

There are a few little things that help me get by. I tend to plan day trips and weekends away with my OH. I also make plans with friends and family. Snuggling up and watching Netflix also helps me. I also use meditation apps.

When my mind goes into over drive I try to remind myself of all the things I have that I’m grateful for, and that it will be my time. It just hasn’t happened yet.

I really hope you feel a little better soon. Always here for a chat. I hope you have a lovely birthday too 😊 ❤️ xx

Hi there, like you said the journey of infertility struggle is a bumpy ride and most of us can possibly relate to it. I am not much of a watch and binge kind, So I'll leave the Netflix suggestions to other women. What I can suggest is however a mini-vacation ... around this time hopefully, it won't be a problem to manage some work-free time. Also, you need to take care you do not go on vacation with women or group that'll revolve around family talks. Cross out the groups that have chances of travelling with children or have had small children to constantly take update even if they are on a trip away. Well if you guys can push back the fertility journey in the back of your mind and probably look for a romantic getaway with DH works wonder. It worked for me always.... pack your bags no pre-bookings so you have lot in your mind to ponder on like good old days. Adventure or activity trips are also good... they keep you busy all day and thereafter you doze off the moment you reach your hotel in the evening.
