Flying during 2ww

Hello all,

Just wondered if anyone had experience of, or opinions on, flying during the 2ww. I might have to do it next month for a wedding but not sure I will want to. My clinic says it’s perfectly fine to fly with needles and meds etc and know that many of you have. I just feel like if I’ve got this far do I want to take the risk??

Any thoughts, as always, much appreciated.

X

Is fine! I did it during my first ever 2ww and have a gorgeous daughter. Will be doing it now for a sibling. Good luck!

Hopefully that did the trick! Now on my third FET for a sibling and going away this weekend. Testing after weekend... cross your fingers flying is the magic formula - I didn’t do during my other two FETs! 😂

Hi Hifer

It should be fine with needles & med.

I flew with them in summer for a wedding abroad too. However just had a miscarriage on return.

You always think could it have been because of the flight in your head.

Only you know if you want to take the risk. . It is generally safe to fly in pregnancy but did also happen to a pregnant friend too years ago when she came back that week had a miscarriage.

I wish I hadn’t gone then that thought would have been ruled out of my head for perhaps contributing to the miscarriage.

Good luck for your 2 ww fingers crossed for you!& hope wedding goes well. X

It’s no problem at all, I flew back from Spain after my transfer. You just have to watch you don’t have too much luggage or get someone else to carry it xx

Thanks. I guess everyone that transfers abroad has to fly back. I hadn’t thought of that!! Thank you x

No problem, do what you feel comfortable with xx

Hi! I had no alternative as I did treatment abroad. Hours after the transfer my little nephew was jumping on my belly and less that 24h after that I was in a plane! Travelled with drugs and needles several times: just ask for a letter at your clinic, It will be alright.

I am now almost 30 weeks so please be relaxed 😃😘

Thank you. I am stressing about everything and finding it really hard to sleep. Good to know that you found it so easy and are now pregnant! Many congratulations! Xx

Thanks! Honestly I think that if it was meant to go well, a flight won't have any effect at all. And if something happens... It won't be your fault. Just do whatever makes you feel better, that's what really martes. All the best xxx

Hello Hifer,

I didn’t fly during my 2WW but at 7 weeks pregnantand it was easier than I imagined. I got a letter from the clinic and carried all my medication in my carry-on including the needle box. I also didn’t go through the scanner - told security at the airport that I was pregnant so I only went through the pregnancy safe scanner. Best of luck with your 2WW and I’ll have fingers crossed for you.

Hi, I have flew a few time during my 2 weeks wait (short flights) I had no problem. However, it is a personal choice. You must do what you are comfortable to avoid any regrets if it doesn’t work. All the best of luck. Take care x

Hi

It’s safe to fly in your 2WW I flew in mine the only thing was I told security I wouldn’t go through the scanners but I was happy to have a hand search mainly to make me feel happier about the situation! I’m now 21wks.

Good luck xXx

Hey hifer, i had to do an overnight trip to zurich with work during my last 2ww and was so nervous about going through security with all my syringes but honestly they didn’t bag an eyelid 😂 as long as you have a letter from your clinic explaining you need the meds they’re fine. I took double the amount of medication that i needed, just in case of delays so that i was totally covered. If you’re changing time zones then maybe just check in with your clinic about specified times to take meds without it affecting the process too much, i only had an hours time difference so i just stick to u.k. time regardless. Hope that helps! x

Thank you. Yes the clinic said that they would give me a letter so all good there. I hadn’t even thought about time difference to be honest- thanks for the reminder. Luckily I’m going to Lisbon so there’s no difference. Thanks for sharing xx
