Long Walks during 2WW?

I love walking and regularly do long dog walks as live in the countryside. Now during COVID have been doing this more often and find it a good thing for my management of stress levels.

In past rounds I’ve always taken it super easy and just done shorter walks but still no BFP that has stuck. So this time I’m trying to just focus on doing whatever helps me manage the anxiety of the 2WW as best I can and I’m missing my long walks.

No plans for anything strenuous and just a gentle stroll sort of pace but wondering what people’s thoughts are about longer distances during the 2ww if keeping it gentle and taking breaks?

Xx

Hi Westielover16,

I’ve always keep doing my long dog walks during my tww. I think it’s a great gentle way to get your blood flowing and so good for your mental health as well. Definitely ok to keep it up, like you said just take breaks when you need it xx

There shouldn't be a problem if you're used to walking. I did 4-5 miles reguarly during the 2ww, at a gentle pace. The increased blood flow is good for implantation, so don't let it worry you. Stop if you feel tired, stay hydrated and you'll be fine. Enjoy those walks!

Thanks for your reply. Husband suggested a 4 mile walk to a pub for lunch and back. Just made me initially anxious it would be top much. But have come round to the idea. It pretty flat and will just take it easy and slowly.

I did and got a bfp! Like others have said, keep hydrated and I would avoid getting too hot. Enjoy and good luck! xx

Thanks will do. Was just a little anxious when hubby suggested it yesterday but having slept on it and feedback here makes me feel will be fine but will just take it slowly and drink plenty of water along the way. Xx

It’s shouldn’t be a problem if it’s what you are used to. My dog still needs walked so I will still be doing that but will probably do more of the flatter walks than go to the hills. Walking is so good for the mind and soul so as long as not too strenuous my clinic have never said not to xx

I agree with what everyone else has said. During my 2wws I took time off work and spent lots of time walking. I ended up doing 4 rounds in total and had 2 BFPs and they were on the rounds when I seemed to do the most walking. My understanding is that gentle walking helps the blood flow to the uterus. So I would say go for it. Good luck!
