Further blood tests

They have said for me to get tested for the following:

Thrombophillia screening

Autoimmune antibodies

Natural Killer cells

Cytokines ratio

PAIP polymorphism

MTHFR

Apparently it has to be sent to USA as they don’t do it over here. So it’s gonna cost us another 2k! 😫

Has anyone else had these tests in the UK? Trying to find out if it has to cost me this much money...

I think that is the normal cost in the UK unfortunately! I had mine checked in Athens for much less than this. Whilst I was pleased to have these done, I personally feel I didnt gain that much from having these done. For example we have had to tweak my treatment each time as Im now doing DE and poor embryos have been ruled out. Ive ended up adding in clexane as to help with lining issues and blood flow to my uterus (it did show up that I had a slight clotting issue) still BFN, added in intralipids as showed a slight increase in NK cells (still BFN) and I asked for prednisolone which the tests showed wasnt necessary but they let me try it along with increasing my progesterone and I got a BFPx2 but have lost it which we now think is due to low progesterone which may have been affecting my implantation window and this cant be picked up on through those tests. I think that had I not had the tests I would have naturally progressed to these extra meds anyway so not sure if I would have paid the money looking back. Tough decision. Ask the clinic if they would let you add in some extra meds without testing and I guess you can decide from there.xx

Oh really... I guess sometimes it’s a case of ruling things out? If I don’t have them done and my next cycle fails I guess I’ll wonder...

My consultant said about putting me on melatonin for a month as it’s meant to help egg quality and upping my stims. My AMH is 30 but I’m not producing as many as the AMH implies. I will check regarding the implantation window before I start my next cycle.

So much to think about!

I've had them all and that price sounds about right. Worth testing for all of these for sure. It's like 16 vials of blood! I fainted haha so maybe ask to lie down and drink plenty of water beforehand! Best of luck with everything 🍀

Well it's important did rule them all out and if any do come up positive (high nk cells for me) then you can prepare for that at your next transfer. Best of luck xx

Even with all those tests we still just got a call from the Dr confirming a chemical. I feel like giving up!
