Sensitive! Leaking fluid?

Sorry ladies, I know this is a sensitive subject for many of you still struggling to conceive, I'm just looking for advice from anyone who has been pregnant before. I'm almost 17 weeks now and this past few days I've noticed my underwear has been quite wet. I'm worried in case I'm leaking amniotic fluid. How can you tell if it's fluid or just normal discharge? It's very very watery! Help 😬

Hi, I am no help but if you're worried please contact your midwife or epu. At least they can reassure you of what is normal or not. Best of luck 🍀

Hi Kitcat, I think this would be a better question to ask the NCT forum, as this is specific for pregnancy, and a lot of IVF ladies have now moved into this group. I think the fertility group might struggle to help as most are on the TTC journey. Defo worth checking with your midwife, although I'm sure it will be ok xxx

Hi lovely, hope your doing well. Yes I have the same, I read that its your bodies way of naturally fighting of infection from entering the womb to protect the baby. I cant member the exact terminology used for it, but it seems normal. Although its not the nicest ;) xxx

I had this at around 14 weeks pregnant, I was terrified it was leaking amniotic fluid too as it felt as though I had wet myself without knowing! It didn't do any harm though Hun. xx

It’s normal to produce more cervical fluid while pregnant, I thought I wouldn’t have to wear a sanitary towel for 9 months but I was wrong haha. Good thing to get checked out though if ever you’re unsure. Hopefully all is well. Let us know how you get on later xx

Glad you and bubba are good xxx

I leaked fluid during second and third trimester and was confused if it was either urine, amniotic fluid or discharge (sorry if tmi) and My midwife seemed to think it was the latter and told not to worry! X
