HSG test advice please

In 2014 I being diagnosed with both tubes be blocked so I had laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.

My right tube couldn’t be safe so I had removed and my left tube was unblocked. After that I had a green light from a doctor that we can get pregnant naturally. So we was trying but wasn’t happening and we decided 2015 to go through first ivf cycle.

Before we start I had a HSG done and we was really happy that my only tube was good so we could move on with cycle.

First one unfortunately didn’t work so year after we change the clinic and we went thru second one which give us my miracle baby girl and I being left with one frostie.

After my baby was 6 months old we being trying natural way to get pregnant but nothing ( she is now 27 months old) so last November we went back to the clinic .

All the blood tests they ask for come out good just my AMH level was 5.7 so we decided to another last one fresh cycle and leave that frostie for later.

I had good outcome with collecting eggs and turning to nice embryos which one was transferred and another 3 had to freeze.

I’m afraid didn’t work so we repeat again all blood tests and last month we done us very first frozen natural cycle having 2 embryos transferred. I was so positive but again BFN 😔

I went to GP 2day asking to help me with HSG test to be done knowing my history just to rule out possibly that maybe some how that tube is blocked. She wrote the letter us I was there to the doc that I previously had this done asking him if I can do it on NHS or I will need to go private and pay for it .

I told her that all my test r ok so there My be some issues with my baby’s don’t want to stick ?

I never had NK cells done but if I had I wouldn’t get pregnant in first place with my Daughter.

I’m really sorry for such a long post but please ladies if any of u have a similar situation and know if HSG can be done on NHS ?xx

Hello

I’m sorry you are having such a rough time. A HSG can be done on the NHS. In my experience it was organised through the fertility clinic not the GP, I know every NHS locality seems to have different rules so it may be different in your area. I don’t think the results of a HSG would have any meaning if you are going through IVF though since your Fallopian tubes aren’t involved though??

Good luck with your journey!!

Xxx

My first cycle was through nhs and when they removed my right tube and repair and unblock the left one before we decided to go through ivf my doctor send me for hsg to make sure haven’t block again so there is no inflammatory that will make effect the cycle.

The tube was ok so we move on with cycle.

I have regular period but heavy and painful each month and I always have back pain . Last month when we was going through natural frozen cycle on a scan show that I was ovulating from my left side but was quite painful.

I don’t know if that one of the symptoms but I need to rule out possibility that my tube is not blocked and swollen and doesn’t have any effect of my last 2 unsuccessful cycles.

On 23rd (which will be my day 21) I’m having progesterone check and vitamin d and thyroid and full blood count and other few tests done .

If that all comes good then there must be a issue with implantation and what next to do I really don’t know😔

I have only 2left frostie and I’m 39 with only 5.7 amh . Xx

Hi. I had an HSG done by the fertility clinic too. It was optional at mine, but I went ahead as I wanted to know if there was anything wrong. I’m just wondering the same as what the lovely lady said. About your Fallopian tubes and IVF. Good luck 😊 xx
