Hello ladies,

I didn't need one. I rested in bed from the anaesthetic for a while but I didn't bleed anywhere near as much as I was expecting and the aching wasn't really bad either. Quite a minor procedure
Hi Ams2016, I had a scratch a couple of weeks ago and although its not the most pleasant experience in the world it was over in a few minutes! My consultant told me to expect bleeding so wore a pad home but I was totally fine (no bleeding at all), just some period like cramps afterwards. The only thing he did say was if I was woozy then not to drive home straight away and to have a coffee before I left but I just hopped in the car to drive home. Good luck!x
Can I ask a quick question. Are you sedated for this or just awake and similar to a smear? x
Thinking of having it next cycle x
Hi Button, you are awake for this. The set up is similar to a smear test. I took a couple of nurofen beforehand to dull the pain, read that recommendation. Some people have found it ok but if Im honest it was pretty painful but over after around a minute so dont let that scare you.....just want you to be prepared!x
Thanks I appreciate that, to be fair even the name doesn't sound nice lol x
Hi Button-123. You could always ask your GP to write you up for a bit of sedation to take on the morning it is done. That was always my advice if any of them were even a tiny bit scared. Diane
Thanks for that Diane X
