Chemical pregnancy - what tests or changes were made on your next cycle

Hi ladies

Following my chemical pregnancy being confirmed yesterday just wondered what tests or changes you/your clinic made for your next cycle if any. ?

Wondering whether I should have tests for things such as blood clotting/sticky blood, thrombophilia, lupus anticoagulant, , vit d, immune testing which could rule out these type of problems.

I have also read that low levels of progesterone could be the cause my levels are never checked does anyone have theirs checked ? I was on 2x progesterone pessaries I have seen lots of you ,mentioning you also have injections?

Any advice would be welcome ahead of my review meeting I unfortunately feel I always have to go there with loads of questions and suggestions as they don’t tend to come up with much. Xx

Hiya. Is this your first chemical or have you already had a MC? From what I understand they don’t tend to test for much after one chemical as unfortunately they are quite common (more common than MC) and are often down to bad luck rather than a genetic issue.

What pessaries were you on? I was on 2 x 400 cyclogest a day and when I asked the clinic they said this was ‘much more than you need’

Have you always been on the same protocol? Sometimes changing it makes a real difference.

If it’s any consolation my last review was basically just do it all again exactly as we did last time and hope for more luck which I am not sure has much medical basis x

Thanks for your response Daisy. No MC this is my only Chemical Pregnancy. I am the same 2x 400 cyclogest. I had the max dosage in my last cycle which in the end worked well as the most successful cycle. So I think the hospital will stick with this. I am going to suggest doing my last fresh cycle due to my age with the hope I get some to freeze as the frozen cycle seemed to work better for me. I would then not have any transferred. I am keen to have the nk killer cells test before another transfer but not sure I will be able to as starting new job Sept and already have to take 9 days as 2 pre booked holidays before the end of the year. So not really going to be able to take 2 days off which this would entail (over 2 months). Just keen to have any add tests that could help rule out things like killler cells, immune problems etc so I can say I have tried everything and not find these things out before all attempts done. So take it the hosp didn’t recommend any tests like that for you or tablets etc? Xx

Hi Coral76

I was told last Friday that wehad a chemical pregnancy! For me to cope I am referring to it as an early miscarriage!

It was my 7th transfer with an AB embryo but my first positive test!

My history is long and complex and am giving I think my clinic and my DH a run for their money!!

The only change this time was I had no steroids following the results of the NK biopsies that I had in the summer this year and I had an extra day of progesterone pessaries as per advices by the ERA result last year!

I thought and was told I was less stressed too.... although the process does cause anxiety levels to raise!

Please any questions, if I can help I will xx
