I need some advice about having a scratch. Professor Brosens, who tested my NK Cells last year, recommended a scratch and they would do that for me. My IVF clinic, for some reason, not so keen. They said evidence on scratches are so limited that they are not 2orth doing. Also, repeated scratches can be detrimental to the lining. I've only ever had one scratch before. It didn't work. Does anyone have any experience of this or any recommendations.

Hello Hun, for my last IVF(my successful one!) I had the scratch done along with the steroids from professor brosen! Which resulted in my beautiful baby boy. So thankful I went to the proffersor. Good luck x
I was told they are now discouraging you from doing it. They claimed studies have shown minimal to no effect with the scratch and sometimes more harm than good.
Just my 2p worth but go with you feel is best for you.
Hi! I’ve had two done! One with my first fresh transfer which ended in a chemical, didn’t have one with my fet and that was negative! Had my second with my second fresh transfer and we got our bfp! Currently 36 weeks pregnant and due our baby boy soon!!
I guess everyone has different views but I believe they worked for us xxx
I had an IVF cycle with no scratch and got a BFP, unfortunately ended in MMC at 7 weeks. The next cycle I went for the scratch and got a BFN! Cycle number 4 no scratch and currently 9 week pregnant.
I had a fresh transfer with no scratch and it was successful. Following that I had 2 unsuccessful frozen rounds with no scratch (a chemical and a BFN). For my third frozen round I had a scratch and it was successful. The embryo for that round was a higher grade than the 2 failed rounds but it was a day 6 where as the failed rounds were day 5, therefore according to my clinic had a lower chance of being successful. After my scratch I had the heaviest period I’ve ever had with 2 days of absolutely huge clots coming away. I believe the scratch essentially cleared out my womb of all the old lining and allowed me to start growing a fresh lining. I don’t know if that made the difference or if my third transfer would have been successful anyway but seeing all the old lining come away put me in a more positive frame of mind. I know the hospital says there is limited evidence that they work but I think the problem with all these clinical trials is that if someone taking part in a trial has a specific issue that hasn’t been addressed (eg some sort of immunology or dna issue) then of course that trial isn’t going to be successful for that individual. If the underlying cause of you not getting pregnant has been addressed then I do believe a scratch could help implantation of a normal embryo.
I’ve had 3 more unsuccessful transfers and never had the scratch but giving it a go for my 4th. Doctor said while there’s no conclusive evidence it couldn’t hurt to give it a go although nhs don’t provide it so we will pay. Just thought I want to try something different xx
