Meningitis mid IVF

It’s just never easy is it. I’ve just aborted a round of ivf due to contracting viral meningitis after egg collection and night before implantation. Gutted and feeling low that I was meant to test on sun but i’m now just suffering mega mega period. Good news is I now have 4 embryos in the freezer. I now that’s amazing but don’t seem to be able to see the good side. I know you girls will understand.

Oh Dolly, what a nightmare ☹️. I know it’s probably not much comfort right now, but at least you still have your embryos all safe and sound and waiting for you. Better that than to have transferred one and then become really unwell.

Rest and focus on you, hope you have a speedy recovery xx

Understandable you're feeling down, a lot of build up and it's a big disappointment when you can't transfer. And you're pretty poorly too I expect.

I had to do a freeze all cycle too. It is disappointing but totally worth it to have time to get back to 100% before transfer and with a little time I know you'll take this view too. In the meantime, concentrate on getting better and looking after yourself. Your frosties aren't going anywhere xxx

Happily got lucky with our first transfer and BB is due end of this month. Hope yours goes just as well xxx
