Mid ivf crisis

Hi all hope you are well.

As you all know my recent FET didnt work this time, ive started rebelling against my body.

Stopped taking my vitamins, started drinking again and have had a few fags whilst ive been drinking.

I know i shouldn't be doing these things but ive got the mindset at the moment that f@#k it, For over a year i have been on a strict regime and am still no further forward. (2 failed implantation and miscarriage)

I still have 2x day 6 blastos on ice but i have a nagging doubt in my head that these ones will die too.

We are due to sign all the paperwork again on the 17th of june but im not sure anymore.

Sorry for the long post

Hi Lynsay

Please don't be hard on yourself. You have been through so much and deserve a break. We can't be perfect all the time! Just allow yourself this little break and gather your strength for the next time.

Big hugs xxx

This journey is so hard that when we go through constant let downs, we need to give ourselves a break from being so strong all the time.. Your only human and are quite within your right to let go a little from time to time! Try not to be to hard on yourself, allow yourself a little enjoyment and get back on the wagon ready for when the next treatment starts! Xxx

I could have written this myself.... ive had a couple of drinks and few sneaky fags after a year... but after 1 failed ivf, then operation, pregnancy announcements everywhere inc the kardashians all over my news feed ive had enough!! But after all that wine and those sneaky fags i still want my baby.... so here goes back to being good.... and the warrior in us kicks in.... do dust yourself off lady and get ready for your next round as all our hard work has to pay off xxx

Hi there, you’re only human... don’t be so hard on yourself.

Ive also indulged in alcohol and chocolate and had a break from exercise and vitamins.

For me, that was my release after a miscarriage and failed FET. I’ve now signed up to cycle 2 and am now trying to be healthier in preparation for it.

Don’t feel bad about... you’ve got 2 little embryo’s on ice waiting for you when you ready 💕 xx

As everyone has said don't be hard on yourself. You needed this break and when you are ready, you will be strong enough to get yourself back on track. You've done it before and you can do it again xx

I know exactly how you feel. Don’t feel bad about the vitamins, drinking and smoking. I resorted to smoking after each heartbreak. We all have vices. We all seek comfort. I always have a bottle of wine in but rarely drink as it just doesn’t appeal to me so much anymore. I’ve been lax about taking my vitamins. The last two months I seriously didn’t even see the point in ttc naturally but my OH still thinks it’s important so I did it just to humour him (its complicated; we still have fun in the bedroom but with ttc we have to home inseminate and it’s just pointless to me now). When you feel ready you will refocus. Until you are don’t beat yourself up xx

I'm the same, haven't started drinking or smoking but OMG I can't stop eating and all my healthy eating will power has gone! Don't be too hard on yourself, you need a break, we all do at some point and you'll know when you've had enough time and feel ready to start again. x

Oh god I’ve been there! After every failed round I’ve just thought f#%* it I’m having all the wine and all the gin! A bit of a break won’t hurt, you need to let off a bit of steam, and when you feel ready you’ll be in the right place to put down the wine glass and swap it for some mint tea, or something equally boring! Just be kind to yourself lovely cxx

I’m so sorry to hear this we have just failed our fist cycle as of yesterday so completely feel your pain. It’s not studpid at all as you’ve tried so hard to get to this point it’s only natural you feel this way. You will get there, us info ladies are fighters xx

Hi there, don’t be hard on yourself. I highly doubt that drinking and smoking on occasion is going to have a serious damaging effect on your ovaries.

Let it out and then dust yourself down. Go back to eating healthier, drink less, cut out the cigarettes completely. Then go for it! Perhaps your body needed to feel like you’re having fun again? Don’t restrict yourself to treats. Sending hugs xxxxxx

Allow yourself a bit of a relapse. This journey is so bloody stressful. I doubt a few drinks and fags will make a difference xx

Aww thanks ladies. I think yesterday was a bad day all round. I got stuck working with a girl that is due to have a baby around the same time as i should have been due. Worst 6 hours ever.

Then when i got home my husband was a complete arse so went to went to bed in a foul mood.

Today is a new day lol back to being healthy xx

After a year of being 'good' I indulged after our failed cycle - alcohol, caffeine and pizza! ( I was advised to go gluten free) Felt so good!

I got it out of my system and now back on track with vits etc and feeling more positive. I actually feel better on the fertility diet anyway!

Our fertility nutritionist said take a night a week off (when your not in the middle of treatment).

It is totally normal to break out - you have been so good keeping to the routine so far.

Take it easy on yourself, most people on here will admit to having the odd break out.

Xxx
