Stringy mucus & spotting at 6.5wk, any advise!?

Hi all

I am hoping for a bit of reassurance, I am 6.5weeks, I have had spotting and bloating sensation since Tuesday night. And this morning woke up with a stringy mucus on my tissue, a line of red to light red blood in it with a bit of brown discharge. (Not so comfy with adding a pic, right now).

I called the clinic who advised they cannot do anything at this stage until my 7week scan on Tuesday. Has anyone had similar and continued with a success story!? I’m hoping it’s over drive of hormones, and the spotting since Tuesday is pessary irritation.

I’m keeping a pad on to analyse.

I know this is worrying, it’s always worrying when you see blood, but if the amount is small and you have no cramps it should not be too serious. I guess they don’t see you because of the holidays? You can certainly have a scan before 7 weeks, my first scan was at 5 weeks 5 days. Take it easy in case it’s a subchorionic hematoma, no sex and no lifting until your scan. Let us know when you have the scan, you might want to write in the Fertility network - pregnancy support group. Hope all goes well for you! Xxx

Hi hunny! I don't want to give you any high hopes. For me it happened for 2 of my pregnancies and it didn't end ok. 1st time at almost 5 weeks and in the next 24 hours bleeding started and the 2nd time at 10w3d and I started heavy bleeding after about 2 or 3 days. I hoped I was one of those women that bleed and they end up having full term pregnancies but I wasn't one of them.

So that's why you should be prepared for any outcome. Life sometimes isn't fair! I hope you'll be more lucky then me! 🤞🤞🤞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It sounds reasonably normal. I had brown spotting and stringy mucus for most of weeks 6-9. I had a haematoma and a larger bleed at 7 weeks which I think was my body passing the hematoma. I’m now 13 weeks and all going well and no more spotting/stringy mucus. As one of the ladies said - could be a hematoma so take it easy and call midwife/gp if you’re very worried. Spotting is quite common x

Thank you, that’s really helpful. It is just so frustrating as I’m unsure what’s going on. I keep getting overwhelmed, upset, anxious and then fed up 🥺 Having a sofa bank holiday weekend x

Apologies, My heads everywhere.. I also wanted to give my congrats, I properly reread your message and noticed you mentioned you are 13 weeks ❤️ Wonderful! I do hope my story is similar, as I am not heavy bleeding and it’s not every wipe or regular 🤞🏽

Hey, Im in the same position too. Im 17days after ICIS. Started bleeding Sunday same as you, small but brown now mines is just very very light bleeding. Clinic said they couldn't do anything until my scan on 23rd where i will be 7 weeks or if I have some pains which I don't yet either. I'm soo worried and just don't know what to do with myself either.
