Egg Collection booked for Wednesday...🙏

So I had another scan today and my 2 larger follicles have grown to 17mm. I have a smaller one at 11mm and the rest too small.

I’ve to continue with Gonal F tonight then trigger shot on Monday night before EC on Wed.

Any tips and advice for EC day would be greatly appreciated ❤️

I know we’re only looking at potentially 2 eggs, which isn’t much, but I am really really hoping and praying these are 2 good healthy eggs!! 🥚 🙏

Just make sure you look after yourself. Rest up and drink lots of water. Your body will have been through a lot 😘 x x x

You will be really surprised how much throes smaller ones develop by the time your egg collection comes. Make sure you have a box set lined up after and all your home comforts. I was lucky and felt fine after. Hope all goes well xxx

Good luck for Wednesday.

I had 3 around 17mm and then another group around 9-11 and they all caught up with the trigger injection.

It’s all about quality and not quantity though.

I was fine after EC, barely even had a nap. I took paracetamol every 4 hrs for the rest of the day just in case and I was a wee bit tender. They offer you a painkiller suppository (well they did at my clinic) but I turned it down as it was ibuprofen based and I can’t take that. You’ll do great x

I’ve been too busy hoping that it all works, I’ve not even thought about the potential pain!! I best get myself some paracetamol just in case!!

Oh thank you. Next appointment is on 24th to discuss the FET date 😊.

I meant to say they told me no hot baths or hot water bottles on EC day as it prolongs any bleeding. Let us know how you get on xx

I only had 2 follicles looking like they would be ready, on collection day they got 8 and 5 fertilised all good quality, and 4 made it so don't get hung up on numbers (as hard as that might be) you still have a bit more growing time. It most definitely is quality of quantity. I found EC a lot easier than I had anticipated. Very little discomfort afterwards and felt ok, you just need to chill out for a couple of days and let your body do what it needs to. Drink lots of water as well.
