Egg collection done!

So today was egg collection day, and we got 4 eggs.

At the scan on Monday they were talking about cancelling due to slow response to stims and only 2 measurable follicles. By Wednesday we had 5, ranging from 11 to 20mm so they decided to go ahead with EC.

Obviously we would have liked a couple more, but I’m delighted with 4 eggs from the 5 follies. The experience was actually a breeze! All the staff were lovely, medication worked a treat, and I have no recollection of anyone poking round my lady bits 😂. Now just the wait to see if any fertilise, and how they go from there 😬x

Thank you 😊 still a long way to go, but it’s a good result after a slightly rocky first stims cycle! I’m also not so scared about the fact that we might need to do another one, as at least I have a better idea of what it’s all about.xx

Yes exactly - I think most clinics like 3, so you got a good number to start the process with. Good luck xx

Congratulations! I had egg collection today as well, only on day 10, as I only had one follicle responding to medication but got 3 eggs today! Now for the nerve wracking wait to see if they fertilise x good luck! X

Hope this gives you a boost. I had 4 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilised & 1 made it to day 5. I’m now 17 weeks pregnant. Wish you the best of luck!

Thank you! I had 8. I was hoping for more like we all do. My nurse said it only takes 1 & she was right! X

Wow congrats and thank you for sharing that! I’ve got egg collection on Thursday and 4 follicles so it gives me some hope. X

Best of luck! Sedation’s amazing isn’t it!! I also had 4 eggs retrieved on my first round 3 fertilised and 2 made it to day 5 embryos. We managed to get pregnant first time around (although sadly ended with a missed miscarriage) and now i’m 14 weeks pregnant with our frozen second embryo. It’s certainly not all about the high numbers. Wishing you the best of luck with your journey xx

This is so similar to me! I had to have 3 scans as they were taking their sweet time to grow! I got 4 mature, 3 fertilised and they lasted till day 5. One good one put in on Tuesday, other 2 didn’t make it, which is disappointing, but you only need one! Good luck, the dreaded 2ww the joys!! x

Thanks for sharing your news, glad to hear!! I’m on Day 11 of stims … hopefully just a few more days to go until egg collection . It’s nice to hear everyone’s experiences!

Good luck 🤞 and don’t worry about the procedure, it was honestly fine. It’s the nerves about the outcome that got me, and there’s not much you can do about that. I didn’t even have time to read my book! From the 4 eggs he was able to inject 3 (we’re doing ICSI) and 2 fertilised. Got a call today to say 1 looks good, and the other could go either way. Booked in for transfer tomorrow 😬x

We sound to have similar numbers … nice to know someone going through same! I’m 40 - 41 next month and this is my first ICIS round. I froze 3 eggs in 2019 and planning to use those eggs too this round. I’ve been having a lot of doubt but trying to remain optimistic! I’m trying to take it one day at a time. Love your positivity - definitely needed some today!!! Sending you some good vibes!!!!!
