Hi all... I was due to sign my donor ivf contracts last WK. However during my surgery review my surgeon asked me to hold off and give it one last go ourselves..he suggested 4 mts of progestogen and clomid... and cough medicine! I have to take clomid from day two of my period which will be tomorrow... I have just completed the 2wks of pregestrone..and wow!! The dreams I have had have been weird to say the least!! Am asleep within 15mins of taking this tablet and having very restless nights with nightmares.i also experienced several days of really painful teeth/gums .which bleed pretty heavy when brushed ...am now dreading taking the clomid.. have a splitting headache today and shoulder pain with first day of period which isn't unusual with my Endo...really heavy clothy periods... I don't wanna take painkillers invade they react with the clomid and it doesn't work...but I can't afford any more time off work if I end up with a migraine... Any advise on how to ease the side effects of pregestrone or clomid??

From what I know, things seem better when you have both hormones into your system. It’s when there’s no balance that side effects get extreme! Good luck!

Hi AnnieMac. So pleased that my old remedy of using cough medicine has been prescribed. People don't realise that it thins mucus in the chest, but everywhere else too, especially as Clomid can thicken vaginal mucus. Helps with sperm swimming. You must take some paracetamol for your headaches, it won't harm you or any embryo. Keep away from anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen. If your headaches become intolerable, even after paracetamol, then you must tell your specialist. Good luck! Diane

I also have endometriosis & after my third surgery re started clomid ( had tried it previously 2016 before my endo diagnosis) I also used cough medicine when taking clomid as Diane said it helps thin your mucus as clomid can thicken the mucus ( too thick it can prevent sperm from getting to the egg) I used progesterone cream until I had a positive test & was prescribed progesterone pessaries. Paracetamol should be safe to use as you can take that in pregnancy. I found the anti inflammatory diet helped ease my endo symptoms ( I had bowel issues with it) I was lucky I didn’t suffer too badly with side effects ( only hot flushes & breast pain) wishing you the best with your cycle/s hope it’s successful xoxo
