Feeling apprehensive

So after our cp last August we are now getting ready to try again. Medication arrived today ready to start on Wednesday and now I'm feeling scared and worried. Keep thinking about last year and the rollercoaster journey that IVF is. Hoping and praying all goes well this time and it's a success knowing that this will be my final attempt at becoming a mum.

Wondering what anyone else did different 2nd time round? I'm thinking of having acupuncture and trying supplements like DHEA. Also I've managed to book the first week of my 2ww off work and I plan to relax. Any advice gratefully appreciated.

I also had a chemical pregnancy last year but in October. The next month we did another frozen transfer and it was successful. Our little girl is due in August.

I did acupuncture, took prenatals, drink pineapple with the core starting the day of transfer, kept feet warm at all times after transfer and most of all didnt stress that time around.

Best of luck on your second transfer.

Thanks for your advice will try anything this time round. Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck un August when your daughter arrives. Xxx

Hi Sambab

Will you be going through the whole process I.e. collecting eggs? Dhea is for egg quality which is why I ask.

Last year i had an anembryonic pregnancy. Not quite chemical, but next stage. We got to otd, got our bfp but then i started to bleed. After going back and forth to epu for 4 weeks all they could see was 2 empty sacs that were not progressing.

I had the thrombophilia panel of testing which checks for proteins and blood clotting issues. And I started taking baby aspirin straight away. Apparently as we get older our blood can thicken which can be a real problem at the early stages

My next transfer was August last year and I am now 36.5 weeks pregnant.

I also did acupuncture and kinesiology. I found the kineseology so cleansing and relaxing. Like a mix of counselling for the body and acupressure. It really helped with my stress levels.

Wishing you all the best xx

Congratulations on your pregnancy and wish you well. Might try acupuncture before and after egg retrieval and transfer. Baby aspirin sounds like a good idea too.

Started my provera tablets this morning as I dont have periods anymore so that's different from last year. Just think I need to relax and not ponder on what ifs...thanks for your advice. X

Ive tried DHEA but you usually need to take it for 3 months prior to treatment to get best results from it. I also tried acupuncture which I did enjoy but Im not sure it really helped apart from helping the blood flow to my uterus to improve my lining. I think we all get nervou setting out on treatment again, its only natural as the more we do it the more we know that can go wrong and how hard it is when it doesnt work.....Im nervous too and this is will be our 6th transfer. Try to stay positive if you can, some time off after transfer will be good but try to keep busy. I find being at home more difficult than work, lots of fresh air walks, box sets....just try to get out of the house in general....well that keeps me off google for a bit anyway! Best of luck with it all.xx

Thanks for your reply theres so many things I did last year that I'm not going to do this year...work being one if them! I'm a care assistant so work is full on and stressful..I'm going to rethink my mindset be positive and look after number one for once. Good luck with your next cycle hope all goes well for you.
