Hi I'm new here I'm 21 I've currently been having a lot of scans and blood test and they have found I have hydrosalpinx (fluid in my tube) they need to find the cause of it so i have to have another scan to check for endometriosis. However I'm waiting on my referral to a specialist as the doctor who gave me the results didn't have much information she didn't even no which tube it is in. How long did your referral to a specialist take. I'm actually really scared and keep researching a lot but it doesn't really say much about it and I really don't want to be waiting so long again it's playing with my mind can anyone give me advice

What was your experience
Hi honey. I'm sorry you're facing this. My doctor at a fertility clinic explained us the following. There are different causes for hydrosalpinx and symptoms can vary depending on the individual. Some women do not experience any symptoms, but hydrosalpinx can have a severe impact on fertility. The most common causes include: Sexually transmitted infections; Endometriosis; Pelvic inflammatory disease; ruptured appendicitus. When an area of the body suffers an injury, the body quickly transports inflammatory cells into the area as part of an immune response. In a fallopian tube, the inflamation and healing can cause loss of the fimbria and the eventual closure of the tube. Quite a serious issue, surely, so it's good your doc is extra testing you on this point. I can say nothing as for the waiting times etc..my case is different. Just wanted to wish you all the best of luck.
